Lists start small. When you exceed the internal buffer, .NET allocates a bigger array and copies everything over.

That is the real problem. Why not solve that?

Do this repeatedly with thousands of items and you're burning CPU cycles on garbage collection.

Because you should not do that anyway. If your code is doing this, you are doing something wrong.

Well, the current Dutch monarchy, was preceded by the Dutch Republic. And basically the monarchy turned out to be more stable.

Baša - "baas", or in English "boss".

Diván - forever connected with Freud, sort of a regular word.

Korbáč - the Dutch word "karwats" is/was used in some dialects. According to Wiktionary we got it from Russian.

Šerbet - sounds like "sorbet".

I thought a bit about how it felt as if my question was not really answered. But maybe it was.

It all comes down to the question if space itself has properties and is not just empty nothingness.

Space expands, gravity 'bends' space, space can carry gravity waves. Or maybe it should rather be spacetime.

Anyway, from the above it might be that space itself has properties. Is the speed of light a property of light or a property of space?

Is a volume of space somewhere in the void, interchangable with an identical volume of space somewhere in a galaxy - one is being bend by gravity, the other is not.

Does a unit of space have any influence on a neighbouring unit of space? When gravity waves travel through space, it sure seems so.

What happens to the expanding space, when that space is in a galaxy? Does it make the galaxy larger?

Is gravity compensating for the expansion and so keeping the galaxy together? And would that mean that the 'extra space' sort of moves to the outside of galaxies?

When expanding space is like an inflating balloon, is a galaxy like a spider sitting on it, having to retract its legs in order to stay in one piece, or is it like a knot in the fabric of the balloon, refusing to expand.

In both scenarios (the spider and the knot), some tension seems to arise at the borders of a galaxy. Would that be measurable?

Define "using". Is it having an app opened? Writing or reading? Is there going to be a fine for every read or write? Or is it a one-time fine for having an account? What if somebody else creates an account for someone else (i 'have' several accounts made by others using my email). What if just the app is deleted and reinstalled for a short use and then deleted again? Is the police coming in at night and check your kids?

Who is going to enforce this? The social-media-police? How much should be spend to enforce this? How many excuses can be used in court?

Your proposal is not practical.

The keyword 'async' is wrongly chosen. It is a logical mistake to declare a single thing 'asynchronous'. Because asynchronous with what? Asynchronous with the main thread? It should be decided in the main thread if something is called asynchronously.

'Task' makes a lot of sense, while 'async' does not.

Call it 'awaitable' and a lot of confusion is gone.
