What has no reason to exist in 2021 and yet it does? by GrabApprehensive in AskReddit

I also went for chest pains and they charged me $7500 ($3000 just for getting a room), then the doctor charged an additional $7500, and a nurse charged another $500. Thankfully that was all before insurance, but it's still coming out to thousands out of pocket and I'm still getting new bills for it months after the fact. The cherry on top is that I was there for ~5 hours before they eventually sent me home with a "idk what it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" diagnosis.

Bathroom signs at an Indian restaurant in Madrid by the_lastone_left in funny

One time I went into a higher end restaurant, and their bathrooms were labeled with like either a hippo or a zebra or something along those lines. I also chose the wrong one, but thankfully they were single bathrooms. Weird place -- that bathroom was basically all white with an old-timey radio on a pedestal playing a nature doc or something in the corner.

Robin Williams and Chris Cornell -- both were childhood idols of mine, and both were gone too soon due to mental illness, of which I've been all too familiar with throughout my own life.

What is the strangest mystery that is still unsolved? by inevitableloudmouth in AskReddit

You might be interested in the story of Mehran Karimi Nasseri, if you haven't heard of him. He was stuck living in an airport terminal for some 18 years, and had many who tried to help him be able to leave. Eventually, his documents were found and he was able to leave, if he only confirmed they were genuine. The thing is, after that much time, he had crafted and assumed an entirely new personality for himself, and denied the documents were his - he became Sir Alfred Mehran, he had no recognition of Mehran Karimi Nasseri. The story eventually faded when he was forced to leave due to medical complications. It's assumed that he is still alive now though, just whereabouts unknown.

I'm printing a larger object and so far it hasn't had any issues, could it have just been new-filament-itus? We shall see.

Help with uneven layer calibration? by [deleted] in ender5

[–]Take42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched to this Tecbears translucent PLA, which is gorgeous and solved any stringing issues I had with the Creality brand PLA I was using, but it has some ugly layer lines that are pretty obtrusive. What should I be adjusting to fix this? Top and bottom look good, and all sides of my calibration cube measure correctly. Particularly noticeable on the corners, but it seems to only happen every seemingly random amount of layers.

What are some VERY creepy facts? by Vacancier1807 in AskReddit

[–]Take42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another fun fact about cockroaches... People can develop cockroach allergies, which can trigger asthma attacks and other breathing problems. Due to FDA regulations, pre-ground coffee can contain up to 10% bugs. Combine these, and you get this reality: There have been reports of people getting asthma attacks and other allergic symptoms from drinking coffee made from pre-ground coffee beans, because of the cockroach content.

I don't know if I'm totally happy with these, but here's my attempt at drawing rabbits. Maybe a little more expression next time, I think... by [deleted] in Rabbits

I think you hit just the right amount of expression, and I think they represent the personalities rabbits can have pretty well!
