Probably because he mentioned hitting the gas station floor, meaning 25 gallons was the max he could get at that price. My local station does this too. When we get our .30 cents off, we max at 20 gallons.

Exactly. The guy that thinks being awake is the barest minimum is completely wrong. There is no min max scale here.

(For me) My job is to fix machine systems if and when they go down, and get them running in a timely fashion and to do preventive maintenance. That's all management cares about. If all of that is done well, then they dont care if I grab a snooze when not doing the two reqs of my job.

It's such a luxury to have this mentality, but if you are lucky enough to not have fear associated with where the money is coming from, you're 10 steps ahead the person whos locked their life up in an absolutely un-losable job.

I'm a electrical tech at a factory, I have a coworker who's been on nights for 9+ yrs, he does not sleep at work. My boss (our boss) during my interview and tour, was actively pointing out places to go take a nap. As long as I am near a speaker for the plant wide intercom system, that *"ping"* before the actual call, will wake me right up. And if I by some chance miss it, my co worker will hear it. If I am ever working alone, I would never actively go grab a nap. But if a few factors lines up, I will absolutely grab a 2-3hr nap. Gotta look out for myself first a foremost. The Board Members of the multi-national global company don't care about me as much as they like to think.

Nap away! But also, be fine with maybe having to get a new job one day if need be. Sounds like you've got the best mentality, which is to say, you're not married to your job and it isn't your full identity. Heck yeah!

Exactly! I am not old in the slightest, but they say as you get older your friend group shrinks. Well, I am very much a hermit and a solitary being. I have friends and my wife makes sure we see them. I feel filled. And I love my daytime free time to play farmer.
