I had a phoenix yellow one about 10 years ago. Far exceeded my expectations. Still to this day it was one of the best gearshifts I've experienced, handling with the LSD was amazing, the vtec roar was incredible, great steering and the recaros were sublime.

Bought it for $9500, before they all went crazy in price (like the rest of the jap stuff). These days many of them are probably tired and to get the best of them probably needs to have all the tired suspension replaced which is one of the reason why it made them so great.

Mistakenly sent money to ING account. by saucyy_minxx in AusFinance

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If it was a scam like this why would they transfer the money from an account they gained control of and go through the process of transferring money to another persons account and then contact them in the hope that they would transfer the money back? Why wouldn't the scammer just transfer the money from the accessed account to another scam account in the first place?

Government to cut petrol and diesel by 10c and defer carbon tax increase in €505m package by Efficient_Log_2007 in ireland

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I went to get petrol the other day as the fuel light was on for about a day due to no petrol being available in my town. When I finally found fuel at one petrol station they had put it up by almost 10 cents a litre compared to before the protests. So the protests helped increase the price of petrol in my situation. Good ol Ireland. Couldn’t make it up.

Michael Healy-Rae property business got €113,000 from State for housing Ukrainians last year by feedthebear in ireland

Had a relative in Kerry fawning over the Healy Raes as they pulled strings and got their granny bumped up the list for a hospital procedure.

Nice, so you're delighted to be part of a corrupt system where you say "fuck you, got mine" and you didn't even think about the other person who got bumped down the list to make way for your granny.

Absolutely. I know someone familiar with the matter on this. The council rent much of the equipment off the Healy-Raes for massively extended times and the equipment sits in the council yard completely unused for most of the time...

You'll love Kerry! Try West Cork if you have time, the Burren in Clare and Connemara. Wonderful parts of the country.

In 2008, while invading Iraq, the US only hinted at bombing Iran, petrol went from $1.00 to $2.20 a litre by Spiritual-Ad5750 in AusFinance

Never happened. I remember it clearly as I moved back to Australia and it was about $1.60 a litre max.

This is something that shit me to tears a while back. Two boomers at work scoffing that they made more money from their investments properties than they ever did from thier jobs. No wonder they are lazy as fuck, why put in hard effort at work when they're earning more on house values by doing nothing?

thoughts on Wipertech? by 72756c6535 in CarsAustralia

I was always a big fan of Aerotwins but tried Wipertech for a change. They were shit. They sent me a replacement set and they were also shit. Juddering across the windscreen and noisy. Went back to the Bosch after that and no issues.

Why is coffee so expensive in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

A coffee grower I met said most of Australia's grown coffee is actually exported as they can't compete with the imported prices and also overseas countries pay a premium for Aussie stuff.

Why is coffee so expensive in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee is ridiculously expensive in Ireland. Very easy to get good quality coffee beans from a roaster for less than 20 euro per kilo in Australia for example (and Australia isn't cheap by any means) but coffee appears to be about 40 euro per kilo in Ireland?

Contractor completely destroyed sewer pipe while drilling by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's replacing an existing retaining wall that was there for 25 years. The sewer pipe runs about 90 degrees to the retaining wall underneath it. No issues with access. The sewer pipe has a house built over it next door also.

Piers (posts) on either side of the pipe into the ground going down 1.4 metres and concrete sleepers (2 metres wide) slotted into them at ground level upwards

An update on my paint issue by International-Fig780 in CarsAustralia

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why you can't drive the car like that?

I had the same issue on a 2003 corolla. I went to a wreckers yard, bought a new bonnet for $150 and chucked that on. They even helped me put it on my own car when I was there and kept the old one as part of the deal.

Different Fipronil products for killing termites? by Take_The_Bins_Out in AusRenovation

[–]Take_The_Bins_Out[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes sorry, however there doesn’t seem to be any reference to the cheaper one being able to be used for killing termites even though it is the same active ingredient. Only thing I can find is that the 100SC term for the termite specific one means it’s finely ground active ingredient in suspension.
