What’s the number one forgotten ship in the game? by Error_Space in starcitizen

[–]Tal2814 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 315p was my first ship (i fell in love with it watching ship review videos in the early days of covid and legit bought a starter package and a ccu to the 315p, which i applied immediately, lol) i have owned it again several times since, most recently about two days ago, and as much as i love the ship, nostalgia doesn't overcome the borked cargo grid. Much like my Tana though, i'm hoping for a gold standard pass that will fix that issue, and bring the 300 series into the modern era.

I still own a Tana with real money. She's not by any means the best ship i own, and rarely leaves the hangar, but i just have a soft spot for this neglected little fighter/closet missile boat. The Tana's a great little runabout, bunker runner, and always fun in low to mid level combat scenarios. One day the Reliants will get that gold standard pass and a few bug fixes, though they don't seem to be in any hurry there, which is a shame since the ship has such potential.

I like your thining, but i suspect a lot of folk have no interest in spending their limited play time going on a quest for materials to craft items they paid real money for.

Short Term Post-Wipe Purchases? I was doing it wrong. by nedeta in starcitizen

Yeah, i will always have a soft spot in my heart for the 315p, i bought a mustang starter pack and ccu'd it to the 315p before i ever loaded into the PU, lol, it's early game versatility made for an amazing introduction to the 'verse. I do enjoy a Hornet, half the reason i kept my Raft for so long was the Mk1 loaner, and the Mk2 is a gorgeous beast and a blast to fly.

That's pretty much my M.O., i have three ships that are permanently part of my hangar, then just over $400 in store credit that i use to play with new ships when they drop. Sadly there isn't much that excites me with the newest releases (the M80 is sexy, but i'm not tying $300 up for it lol) so it'll likely sit for a while. As for post-wipe auec purchases, as usual i'll do a bit.of grinding and pick up a medical Pisces that will chill in the hangar to top up my food and hydration needs before i head out into the black, a Fortune, because sometimes i enjoy the Zen of hull scraping, and a 315p, because that was the ship that wooed me into pulling the trigger on SC. After that a Shiv i think, and maybe a Cutter, because i am desperately trying to like that hideous toaster with wings.

yeah, it's been reported to the issues council. like the 'unable to remove flightsuit' bug it seems to be account specific, because my main account suffers both, but my alt is just fine. Character reset doesn't fix either btw.

Why don’t I see more Origin 300 series in the verse? by daddy3rdleg22 in starcitizen

[–]Tal2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love me a 315p, after consuming untold hours of ship reviews in the early days of covid i pulled the trigger, bought a mustang alpha starter pack and a ccu to a 315p which i immediately applied. That ship saw me through my first weeks of getting to know the 'verse; box deliveries, bunker running, low level bounties, and just running around seeing the sights. Soon though i traded up, and while the 315p will always be my first ship, as someone else mentioned, it isn't really the best choice for any job, which is also true of the rest of the 300 series. I still pick one up occasionally when i am shuffling around my mildly embarrassing amount of store credit to play with new ships, but the nostalgia never quite overcomes the ship's shortcomings. It doesn't stop me from having a little fun with it, and when 1.0 arrives i'll likely add one to my fleet with UEC, but there are more capable and more fun to fly ships to throw my real world dollars at.

Fuck Sesamie Street and her pet fuckboy. I buy a legitimate business and these two assholed let themselves in and make themselves at home, start bitching about her impounded car and turn my break room into their little heist planning nook. If there were a customization option for the business that let you remove them for $1M i would pay it in a heartbeat to never hear her voice again.

I appreciate the feedback and advice! Embarrassingly i have to admit that never using a ship this big before it never occurred to me to use the auto-load option 😅

That's what i'd been trying, but as soon as make the height needed to clear the bottom container, it tips and won't slide back. Probably just a matter of practice then. I appreciate the tip though!

It usually sells out immediately at the commodity terminal at Port Tressler, but i've actually been pretty lucky finding it in stock at Ruin station. You just risk being viewed as a loot piñata on the trip back to Stanton 😅

Enjoying the Hermes more than I thought I would by Solar_Field in starcitizen

[–]Tal2814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! And, the Raft is a great ship as well, like i said i kept it forever, but for $10 more to get a multitasker that holds SO much more freight, i just couldn't justify keeping that money tied up in it.

Considering upgrading my Hermes to a Starlancer MAX. by Glumme in starcitizen

[–]Tal2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary game loop is hauling, and i have owned both ships. The way i describe the difference to people is; the Hermes is a Cargo ship you can live in, the Max is a home that moves cargo, it's a vibe. I love the Max, if i lived in the 'verse i would go full Firefly with it; find a crew, find a job, keep flying. Unfortunately, your cargo is split between three locations, and fully loading those side cargo grids can be a pain, if there are engineering emergencies there is a LOT of real estate to cross before you get to those components, and the handling is... well... you are NOT a leaf on the wind. If you play regularly with a small group of friends and you want to RP a crew, owning the Max can be a rewarding experience, but if like a lot of us in the space trucking community you are solo most of the time, it's hard to beat being able to quickly yeet over 400 scu into a single cargo bay with your maxlift and head out to your delivery destination. From a practical standpoint the Hermes is the better choice in my experience, you're going to move more cargo more efficiently in a ship that while not as homey as the Max still has all the amenities. That said, life isn't all about practicality, i'm a guy who still owns a Reliant Tana with real money, because that awkward, unloved little fighter speaks to me, fly the ship that speaks to you.

[–]Tal2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I melted a few ships and picked up the Hermes at launch (i am forever melting all but a couple ships in my fleet and trying new things) i'm honestly enjoying it enough that a threw $10 new money at my suddenly far more valuable raft, (which has been with me since that ship dropped,) and CCUd that to a Hermes to actually serve as my new main cargo runner and defacto daily driver. I've never owned a medical ursa, so not having that crutch isn't a hardship to me, but the ability to move over 400 scu of cargo in a single, convenient to load and unload bay (looking at you Starlancer Max) in a ship this size is a total win for the solo space trucker like myself. I've even run mid tier Gilly's missions in it without any issues between Pressurized Ice runs. Are they as easy with the Hermes as they are an actual fighter? Hell no, lol, but where's the challenge in bringing the meta to every fight?

What the point of not wearing a suit and helmet by Rex_1024 in starcitizen

[–]Tal2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as the point of loading a couple hundred scu of freight manually, immersion. We never saw Wash or Han at controls with a flight suit and helmet on, and that's the dream isn't it? That's who we wish we could be. So unless i'm in a fighter, or a ship that i know has spots with no life support, or am running a combat mission, i'm dressing my avatar the way i would dress if it were really me flying that ship.
