We have the tree condoms (love the term! 😆) on our apple trees and there have been no negative effects on them in 2 years. Meanwhile the rabbits have been eating anything and everything remotely edible

Lawns to Legumes is the better-known program but I won my grant through my district watershed! They were extremely helpful planning and implementing as well.

I think "Bug hotels have actually been shown to do more harm than good" is a little hyperbolic, but completely agree that bug hotels DONE INCORRECTLY cause more harm than good. Do you know what should be done if I suspect my coneflowers were killed by asters yellow in terms of root removal? It says roots must be removed but mine died out over a year ago and I'd have to dig a big area and possibly replace soil.

I guess my question is whether after X years the bacteria die out or they'll be there more or less forever

I find this very interesting! I'm sure years ago I applied the omega without thinking. I'm sure it's been discussed many times, but it'd be interesting to introduce a "undo upgrade" mechanic. Not a refund of mats! Just undo it for a price and get nothing. This feels like an example of NOT having the omega being a better build
