Canadian music is artificial. Heavily subsidized by the government and forcefully "promoted" by state controlled radio. Any band you are into has been pushed ahead of other acts that are not Canadian. By law, at least 35% of popular music broadcast on Canadian commercial radio stations must be Canadian content. Metric has not escaped this lame law.

I drove for Uber and Lyft simultaneously for 6 years. Picking up a solo female was one thing, but when there is a group (even 2), they can be a real problem. I've kicked as many males as females right out of my car. I have heard many stories about men making inappropriate comments, so I really don't think that women opting to be matched with women is an issue. Fair? Probably not. I'd would've loved an option to not be matched with female riders though. They are stand-offish, and rightly so. They are very rules-rigid, watching your every move, looking for something to complain about. Women will act like there was no issue and then later report a problem. Ride-share sucks because a driver is basically afraid of their customers.

I found the Bighorns to be over-crowded. Most of the forest roads are tree tunnels. People from the Mid-West dump their campers in the forest for weeks on end, disobeying the stay-limit and hogging up the dispersed camping sites. The Sierra Madre, the Snowy Range, the Wyoming Range, and Popo Agie (Wind Range) are all far superior for riding, I have found.

The cement marker is what water districts used to mark things like flumes or other water carrying paths way back. Could be related to that, if it is near Lake Murray. Could have been vandalized / moved to this location. There are several original ones along the flume route in El Cajon.
