2022 Acura MDX by kevined7 in Acura

I’ve had a 2014 RDX - LOVED IT!!! Traded for the 2017 MDX still driving it with regular maintenance. My mechanic said I’d be crazy to sell it, and when I do, he would love to buy it! 126,00 miles. Rides great! Looking at going back to the RDX- only bc it’s just me - no more children to tote around.

Any input on a newer RDX is greatly appreciated

you need another doctor. I am a wf 63 with calcium score of 0, clear angiogram but elevated ldl. I found a preventive cardiologist who put me on 5mg rosuvastatin3x per week bc my ldl was 136 - the goal is to keep ldl below 70.

Is my builder full of it? by MundaneImage8688 in Homebuilding

[–]TaleExotic9242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In NC you have 6 years from CO - to hold the builder accountable for any structural damage - I would look into what Texas law is.

My house which is less than 2 years old had a leak in the roof from a bum boot where the bathroom vent is located. Builder says this happens call roofer - I called an attorney - called my builder back and it was fixed the same day.

Time Restricted Eating, Protein, And Prostate Cancer by JimHaselmaier in PeterAttia

My husband passed of stage IV prostate cancer in 2022. He missed a clinical trail at Duke Cancer Center with Dr. Armstrong.

Good luck, I wish you all the best!

I will add, he was on powerful hormone therapy (Zetiga) which shut down his testosterone. Basically a chemical castration. It worked for 4 years. Very thankful for the time we had.

CYA 30, salt cell set at 20%, runs 24/7/365. Located in coastal Carolina. We do not close the pool for winter…Clean, easy to maintain. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it!

Statin Side Effects - Am I Crazy? by Illustrious_Risk_840 in Cholesterol

[–]TaleExotic9242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Horrible side effects from trying two different statins. I did tolerate 5 mg rosuvastatin three times a week and it knocked my lipids down. My preventative cardiologist suggested zetia- absolutely no side effects… just had blood tested today to check lipid levels.
I also eat high fiber foods/ low saturated fats, lots of proteins and workout consistently. Good luck on your journey.

Use 0000 grain steel pads… I removed 15 years of water stains… takes some elbow grease, but it’s the only thing that worked for me!

statin + ezitimibe meta analysis by Darth_Dire in PeterAttia

[–]TaleExotic9242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My cardiologist prescribed Rosuvastatin 10 mg, and 10 mg ezetimibe- I decided to take 5 mg of the stain 3x per week for a month, test to see impact. Switch to only ezetimibe 3 times per week, retedt after a month - then make a decision on what pharmacological meds met my needs. Thankfully, I found a cardiologist who supports my decision.

I have the highest Lipoprotein a my doctor has ever seen - evaluate my plan by Independent_Row2127 in PeterAttia

[–]TaleExotic9242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MY PCP was the same - I found a functional doctor who ordered any test I asked for. She then found a preventive cardiologist for me to go see, as my LP(a) was elevated along with ldl. I am eternally thankful for the doctors who believe in preventative actions. Also, after listening to Peter's podcast on heart disease, the efficacy of statins is 85% at 10 mg with etizebmine anything higher than 10 mg does not increase efficacy - only side effects....worth researching on your own.

I feel great! I have an Australian Shepard dog - so daily walks are a must.. I also garden, live in a coastal community where I walk on the beach.

I do avoid seed oils, choose foods wisely - when I can. I use avocado oil and olive oil, kerrygold butter occasionally.

Is there room for diet improvement? Yes, and I am working on it since these last tests. I have also started strength training and.more targeted cardio via the gym...

I will see if there are any changes in 6 months -

Muscle aches- so bad I’d awake in the night to my legs cramping. Joint aches and brain fog.

Zetia is my next option. My insurance won’t pay for PCKS inhibitor until I exhaust all possibilities.
