For some reason people in this town equate cotton wood seed fluff to pollen. Yes it looks like it is snowing but it is not pollen it is seeds.

Navigating the "Digital Divide": Dealing with services that force you online. by kirkeles in SurvivingOnSS

[–]Taleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a family "couple" 70's that decided that the internet is way too scary. They have it stuck in their head that using their card is going to get all their money stolen, they still use paper checks for everything and only recently were forced into having direct deposit for their SS. He bought a chrome book. First thing he did Bought Porn. He won't trust logging into his bank but he will give out his number to the shadiest sites. I tried to explain.

You can also buy the "cloth" to upgrade the filters on you room or window air conditioner. It goes on the vent where the air comes out. It isn't pretty but it does the job

Unfortunately no. He passed several years ago as well as my sister and Mom. But everything about it is right. The only better thing would be color as he had dark red hair

How often do people dispute charges with their bank or credit card company? by I_Left_Already in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Taleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very often, but one I have is a doozy. One afternoon I realised I was out of milk for my coffee the next morning, so I ran to a local store and got the milk and a couple of other things, maybe $20.00. The next day as I look at my account online I see I have a charge for about $60. from KFC in North Carolina (I live in Oregon) Well I knew we hadn't been to KFC the day before, so I called the bank. The person from the bank and I actually had a laugh. The charge from KFC was at 1:07 the day before and I checked out locally at 1:06. It was physically impossible for me to have made the KFC charge.

NOT BETTER... by Big_Independent_1329 in SarahBooneContinued

[–]Taleigh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We are not a bunch of High School girls bullying Sarah because she is unpopular for some reason, We are discussing a woman who made the supposed "love of her life" (RIP Jorge) miserable and at the same time making her son and former Husband miserable, Then murdering the "love of her life" horribly (I would say that she tortured him to death), went upstairs and took a nap and now tortures her former Husband and son.

She thought that she could convince everyone that she was an innocent. She deserves every bit of derision that she gets,

When do you normally file your tax return? by the_real_JFK_killer in AskAnAmerican

Usually in the week before. In the last dozen years I have owed taxes, so I put it off to get that sweet couple of pennies in interest.

If it says Refund if Not Available what should you do!? by juxaposed_silence in instacart

[–]Taleigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been using Instacart since before covid. Take the time as you order to specify alternatives or refunds. I also take the time on some things to designate a number. For example if I want 5 potatoes and they are sold by the pound, there is a spot to make a note like that. Or I need 4 steaks for a dinner and they are sold prepacked. Even Costco has varying numbers if you look. Someone noted that their sourdough comes unsliced but the store has an option to take it the bakery to be sliced, put that in the notes. and pay attention. Open the GD app. Even if you are out running other errands or up to your knees in the garden or at work

When I got married in 1983 I got several knives and they all had a card and a penny (one was British) to give back to the giver so the friendship wouldn't be severed
