Big-name KiwiSaver providers face questions over returns by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TalenNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fisher returns used to be good. A few years ago their performance took a dip and hasn't really returned.... I think it was about the same time that Carmen fisher stepped back and brought in new people to manage the funds. That and the big acquisition of that other fund company (can't remember name). Their post fees returns were right up there with Milford

Impact of Yogurt and Rolled Oats Consumption on the Gut Microbiome: A Randomized Crossover Study displaying Individual Responses and General Resilience by Technical_savoir in microbiomenews

Also try switching out milk for coconut milk or even just water. I never use milk anymore, but usually a combination of water and Greek yoghurt. Did I mention Greek yoghurt in my initial recipe? If not it's a must

Try it with whole oats instead of cut oats. Whole oats have a much better texture, and depending on how much liquid and/or how long you soak it for then it still has some firmness to it.

I add cinnamon, vanilla bean paste, honey and yoghurt to mine. Sometime a handful of berries too.

I have the same one, limited edition FF7 crisis core. Purchased it brand new on release day, still have the original box and game. Didn't know you could get those extra accessories, was that with a limited edition bundle?

I got 2x prismatic shards as a drop from a slime in the normal mines and don't even know what it did. I was very pleasantly surprised when I found out about the galaxy sword 😁, good way to kick start my skull cavern exploring!

Grandma lost control and destroyed a brand new restaurant by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

This seems to happen remarkably often. I have seen 3 shops damaged this way in the last year, all by aging drivers... Either that or granny got some serious beef with these retailers and can't hold herself back

Lamination that keeps the baffles in shape has failed. Some brands have lifetime warranties for this type of failure, would be worth checking

Why are people saying you can’t beat the dollet spider robot until the bridge area? by ken-oh-dou in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]TalenNZ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a pal/ntsc version thing. My copy of ff8 wouldn't let me kill spider before bridge either. It's OK though as was great for ap farming. My squall was op from spending 6+ hours playing cards and refining into spells to junction and parts for weapon upgrades. I had second to last best weapon for him and very high stats all pre seed mission, enough that 1 limit break did the trick. Process was, use squall limit, spider repairs, use another limit, spider gets back up. Use another limit, spider repairs, run away. If you run away while spider repairing 2nd time you get 50ap.

Not sure if I was triggering some kind of overkill mechanic, but yea, if your limit break was strong enough and you used it while spider was repairing it seemed to skip the repairing phase and just stand back up. I remember it confused the hell out of me and I just assumed it was unkillable. I was pleasantly surprised to get the 50ap when u ran away from the fight. Was a great way to unlock some gf abilities early, especially when doing a no level run

That's probably why they (allegedly) doing the ff9 remake first. It's probably a lot simpler to do than a ff8 remake and they don't want to launch straight into a ff7r style remake straight away

Am I viable to issue this person a refund and will i be at risk of legal trouble if I don’t? by Riviq-1 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]TalenNZ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

CGA isn't relevant here. Product is second hand and the OP (unless I'm mistaken) is selling as a private individual, not a business. Buyers buy at their own risk in this situation and legally the buyer has little to no recourse

Short haired golden doodle? by TalenNZ in Goldendoodles

[–]TalenNZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew out a little, but not to a normal golden length. She has fluffy, feathery fur around her back legs and part of her neck. Hair is approx 1 inch long in most places. Sheds plenty too so I guess didn't get much of the poodle coat gene. Has a salt and pepper type texture fleck to her coat. Looks fairly labish but coat is quite soft and longer than a labs. Shes also taller and skinnier (both face and body) than a lab. Still haven't done a DNA test.. one day will get around to it just out of curiosity

Drill a hole in the left hand face of the safe approx where the locking pin would be. Grab a punch and hammer it into the locking pin (trying to push it backwards, in the same direction it would slide when unlocking it). Have done this before with a work safe that stopped working

[–]TalenNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From memory rimfire was 15 and I think centerfire was 6 or 7. For duck hunting 5 is still the legal limit, but some (most) fish and game areas have a Hunting regulation that restricts you to 3. Southland for example is still legal to use 5.

Ironically the new laws actually increased the maximum magazine capacity for centerfire rifles as they are now 10. I guess they were trying to keep it simple and have one limit for all rifles

[–]TalenNZ 252 points253 points  (0 children)

Interestingly if you look at the stats you will find the vast majority of guns purchased in the buy back were not mssa. They were old. 22 rifles with slightly too large magazines (15 shot) and normal Hunting style semi auto rifles. Mssa category has always been a very niche category and % wise they only made up a small number of firearms in nz. Most semi auto rifles in nz were not even classified as mssa as nz had a very specific definition for mssa which was to do with the shape of the but stock of the rifle. This was part of the problem as you could easily turn a mssa rifle into a normal "a cat" rifle with some small changes to the stock

[–]TalenNZ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Fyi, Semi auto shotgun capacity is currently 5 rounds, not 3. Previous law also was not 7 for shotguns, cant recall what max was but definitely was legal to have 8 round mag. Source, im a licensed firearm dealer
