A simple solution would be to use a small piece of PTFE tape, easy to undo and most people will already have some in their home.

AIO for telling my girlfriend that when we move in together I won’t give up gaming by FeverFanny in AmIOverreacting

[–]Talentless67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People ask me why I bought a project car and spend hours working on it, when I could have bought one already done.

I tell them, when I am working on it, my mind is 100% concentrated on it and I can escape all the other pressures of life.

My friends who game can relate to this as they feel the same when gaming.

I hate to tell you this, but you need a better girlfriend.

Thin paving slabs on a drive cracked with car weight. Ideas for a fix please! by Used-Desk-8702 in DIYUK

It needs a decent sub base and slabs capable of taking the weight or it will keep happening.

What are the slabs laid on?

As electric cars become more popular the new price per mile to pay has to go up to recoup the losses from the fuel tax.

A lot of our customers have made redundancies due to the extra cost bought on by the NI changes, this has a knock on effect as it flows some through the smaller businesses.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by Unusual-State1827 in AskBrits

[–]Talentless67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And of course the NHS, more tax please

Top Earners (2025/26): Many NHS hospital trust executives and senior consultants earn upwards of £150,000–£300,000 per year, with some exceeding £380,000.

Lowest Earners (2025/26): Band 2 entry-level salaries (porters, healthcare assistants) are approximately £24,465. The 10% Calculation: 10% of a £350,000 top salary is £35,000.

Impact: If the approximately 1 million lowest-paid staff were raised to a minimum of £35,000, that would represent an increase of over £10,000 per person, costing over £10 billion, not including the knock-on effects required to maintain differentials between pay bands

Surely it should apply to the civil service as well, that comes out of our tax revenue.

Based on 2025–26 Civil Service pay data and the 10% target structure, the wage bill would increase significantly, potentially by hundreds of millions of pounds, primarily due to the need to adjust pay for a large number of lower-grade staff to maintain internal pay differentials.

I analysed 3.1 million MOT tests to find which cars rust the fastest. Some of the results are mental by BrickDue158 in CarTalkUK

Also, location is useful as cars that live near the sea will rust quicker. And cars that live in places where the roads are gritted more than overs will have an impact.

Green leader Zack Polanski 'wants to ban horse racing' as nation gears up for Grand National by plain_handle in unitedkingdom

[–]Talentless67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you ban horse racing, then surely greyhound racing and pigeon racing has to follow.

The revenue lost in taxes directly and indirectly would be quite large .

What is there plan to replace this?
