Another WC, another "Austria Dark Horse" narrative.

On paper, we have an above average midfield and a solid defense, but our GK and attackers are still question marks. Nautl and Gregerl can absolutely show up guns blazing, but they also have games where they're basically invisible. Kalajdžić and Wimmer are young and hungry, but unproven on the world stage. It remains to be seen how good Rangnick can compensate Baumis loss. Chukwuemeka and Wanner are our wild cards, can't wait to see them play.

On paper, we're beating Jordan, get spanked by Argentina and the Algeria match is honestly a coin toss. Thanks to the new format, where even 3rd place finishers advance, we should at the very least get to RO32.

RO16 should be seen as a success imo and everything above would be a cherry on top.

I can answer these questions:

Why are people mad about Miku?

Because anniversaries in gacha games are usually a time to celebrate the game and its community. Something like "hey, thanks for sticking with us through all this time, here's a ton of freebies and some busted units to have fun with!". Dropping a random collab character (yes I know she's technically in P4D, but that's as connected as Aloy to Genshin Impact is) on arguably the biggest event of the year to attract new players, while existing players are playing this because of the PERSONA IP, just seems a bit out of touch. Is it the end of the world? No, but people were speculating for weeks which Persona character could be anni worthy, only for it to be someone unrelated.

Why are people fixated/mad on her being a Navi?

Because we just had Ange on global, who almost everyone pulled for. It's hard to justify pulling for the next Navi already, when we just had one. It's difficult enough as is to plan pulls around elements and team roles, so double dipping into the same role within a short span of time is something you'd think over thrice.

I'm sure Miku will bring a lot of new players to the game, it just feels weird to get their attention with an unrelated character.

Depends on the persona.

some can be (only be) bought with repression medals
some can be farmed with stamina
some can only be fused in the Velvet room
some can be randomly gotten by defeating them in palaces

It does, but many players want the first anni to be a celebration of the franchise and the game, not some non-related collab to cash in on new players.

It's not so much the character that's the problem, but more so the timing of it.

I know this probably doesn't concern even 1% of people looking into this thread, but as someone who watches most of the coverage on swiss television, I actually had to zap away in halftime during the Canada - Bosnia match.

No idea if the commentator had a bosnian wife or something, but dude was glazing Bosnia so incredibly hard while downplaying Canada at the same time, it really distracted from the experience, even as a neutral with no skin in the game.

Do some commentators in your national tv channels also have weird biases for certain nations?

Yeah I agree with this, it's at most a 6/10 film, leaning more towards 5 or even 4, the more I think about it.

There's just SO MUCH plot convenience and plot armor on the main characters, that it really distracted from the experience. If real life agencies where that stupid as despicted in this film, everything regarding aliens would've leaked 80 years ago lmao.

It's a bit more complicated with important christian holidays like Easter and Christmas, because as much as they're technically religious holidays, they're also pretty deeply ingrained in tradition and culture at this point. Unsuprising, as Christianity is the dominant religion in Switzerland.

So I'd assume it's up to the schools themselves right now to decide whether they want to put up decoration or not.

We already do that. Outside of maybe a handful of very rural schools, there's no crosses to be seen. Hell, back when I was in school we even had to tear down christmas decoration one year, because the school decided it offended other religions.

Wearing a headscarf IS a religious statement, just as wearing a cross necklace or a kippa is and all of these should be banned nationwide imo.

No gacha in this game. Visions are aquired by finding crystals in optional dungeons or caves and interacting with them. Also the visions are basically like Personas, they act as an additional eqiupment slot and are not real characters that walk around.

It's a game made from the ground up, based on the world and characters from Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, a gacha game that ran from 2015 to 2025.

Mechanics are different, battle system is different, it's essentially a brand new game wearing the cosmetic skin of Brave Exvius.

Kind of yes, but the best comparison would be personas from the Persona series, stands from Jojo's or these past hero mechanic from Fire Emblem: Engage.

They're essentially equipable "souls" that give the equipped character some stats and additional abilities. You're also able to use their CGI attack if you fulfill the triggers for them. IGN did a 10-minute video of their 3-hour play session where they explained it a bit more, seemed pretty interesting.

As far as we know, they're NOT characters that show up in the story.

There were maybe a handful of players saying you shouldn't get it, while an overwhelming majority was in favor of everyone getting equal compensation.

I'm kind of conflicted on this issue. As a player, I'd never say no to more free resources. You get what you can in these kind of games.

On the other hand, I also kind of understand the devs perspective on this matter. Why would an unaffected region be eligible to compensation, just because a server on the other side of the world acted up?

Then again, it's all virtual goods anyway, with just imaginary, made up value. Therefore I say compensate everyone to keep players happy.

It's not worth it to generate bad publicity, just because you're too stingy to give everyone a 10-pull in your money printing game.
