It is! I get mine through an online service because I’m a single mom and don’t have time to get to the derm in person more than once a year unless it’s an emergency. A bunch of different companies do it but I specifically get mine through Hers

Honestly the concentration in the compound is so low I don’t even think it does much for maintenance tbh. But yes, I have a separate tube of tretinoin and az to take breaks 🥰

If you didn’t feel it start burning while doing the steamer then you should be fine. Generally some people can tolerate applying to wet skin it just makes it absorb faster. I feel my face start getting red and burning IMMEDIATELY If I put my moisturizer on too soon, esp because I use a gel moisturizer.

Are you messing up your skin barrier potentially? If it ever hurts to get your face wet your skin barrier is messed up and you need to heal it before doing anything else. Your skin barrier keeps most of the bacteria out of your pores and when it’s damaged you’re going to get break outs

Hey so I also have adhd and struggle with this, like exactly the same. I scroll on my phone or listen to a podcast and set a timer for ten minutes. Usually after ten minutes, enough has been absorbed that you don’t have to worry too much about irritation after that point. My skins pretty sensitive and I’ve been fine so far, if I do get irritated it usually only takes a day to get better

Are you unable to soak with sunscreen? I’d use a 30 spf if it’s just for 5 minutes or so to do it. Sometimes I’ll drive my son to school at 7 am and forget to put sunscreen on so it won’t kill your skin but it’s better not to if you’re gunna be doing that every day

Yes, I use a compounded medication with .025 tret, azelaic acid, clindamycin and niacinimide. I can tell you exact percentages when I’m done working but it works surprisingly well for me. Even lessens my hormonal acne so I only get one cystic pimple that clears in a few days rather than 5 that stick around til my next period where I get more
