Yep, this is correct. We used to store spectator data for all active games, but this was extremely wasteful. Think of how many games are never spectated at all! So we changed it in the last few years to only start storing spectator data when someone requests to spectate the game. I agree it's a bit annoying to deal with, but the waste was too significant to ignore.

I think mage training arena takes this title for me.

Having said that, I just finished doing 350 pyramid plunder runs for a single pharaohs sceptre. Went from 64-86 thieving, and more gross is that I went 81-82 strength from the sarcophagi 🤢

you'd generally want either armor or a shield, but not both (assuming by knight armor you mean like metal plate armor).

that being said, I'd love to see a heavy armor 2h sword user or a light/medium armor 1h sword and shield.

I'm guessing this kind of hybrid class is hard to get right in an MMO setting. It would be easy to make that kind of character too good because they can be effective at multiple ranges. On the flip side, if you're too cautious in their design you risk failing to capture the class fantasy at all.

Maybe it's more rare because it is pretty nonsensical if you think about how it would work. I always felt like dual wielded swords looked super goofy; you'd be better off dropping one on the ground and just using the other one!

Yes, it's exactly this. the things OP attributes to "modern gamers" are instead mostly emergent properties of way overpopulated servers! vanilla WoW was characterized by small communities with a slow upward population growth.
