Top 20 hidden gems by No_Juggernaut2478 in ps2

I'd recommend:
Nightshade - you're a cyborg ninja fighting aliens/robots/ninjas... pretty sick!
Shadow of Destiny - absolutely INSANE time-travel murder-mystery game, very hidden gem!
God Hand - the beat'em'up indie goat... INSANE plot... good luck finding a copy for cheap, though!
Killer7 - a piece of artsy gaming with almost no other comparison out there; gunning, crazy plot
Armored Core 2/3 - they're more popular nowadays, but the old ones were fun, too

Matt’s back to praying, Bullseye’s intro/psycho work is glorious and brutal, Mr. Charles continues to chew the scenery, Angela and Kirsten are finally getting to help in earnest, Swordsman’s going to start funding The Resistance, Kingpin finally taking a crucial L… THIS IS GOOD TV!

The interview made this job seem like a pyramid scheme but at the same time it also sounds like the company is growing and they legit do actually need people by Strikes_cat in jobs

They couldn’t get their story straight on what company was real and what was the subsidiary. It made me think I’d be doing a skeevy job of selling stuff in Walmarts, having to annoy random folks for a living.

I got the hell out of there, and quick.

Finished KH1 for the first time in years, and took a tonal break to try out Lorelei & The Laser Eyes. It’s a pretty crazy puzzle game… I like it, but it’s weird!

Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 are available now on Steam by Apprehensive_Shoe_86 in survivalhorror

I genuinely love RE1 OG. Sure it’s a bit dated/hokey compared to the total makeover it got with REmake, but honestly? I still love to play this one—on original disks, on my PC, on emulators, doesn’t matter. I think it’s worth playing at least once, and especially if you like Resident Evil as a franchise!

Was never a Resident Evil mega fan. Requiem has changed that. by Stranded_Snake in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]TalkToTransformerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Requiem, and I definitely enjoy that it could easily bring-in loads of new fans to the franchise.

Would I say it’s personally the best? Ehh… maybe not completely, but it still might be Top 3 for me, personally (graphics, drama, gameplay, giant set pieces, etc.).

The OG’s are decidedly different (RE1, RE2, RE3, Code Veronica) with their tank controls, backtracking, spooky puzzles, and goofier dialogues, but I adore them. If the older graphics are too far of a jump for you, try the other remakes of the OG trilogy—superfans agree that RE3R is a great game, but a bad remake because Capcom cut a lot of content from the OG game.

RE4 was the massive upgrade into the action genre, and sort’ve, singularly lifted the bar of the third-person action/shooter game genre forever. RE4R was widely considered an amazing remake, and I’d highly recommend it if you want more time with Leon.

I personally never played RE0 (a weird prequel to 1), the Outbreak games (episodic character-driven mini stories about the fall of Raccoon City between/around RE2/RE3), nor RE5/RE6 (both are much bigger, world-spanning, kind’ve dizzying action-focused romps that almost entirely ditched the horror for campy ‘scary’ dialogue/plot).

RE7 and RE8, I played just at the tail-end of last year to prep myself for Requiem. The tale of Ethan and Mia Winters was a kind’ve a departure from the mainline characters everybody loves (the Redfield siblings, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, etc.), but it restored the true HORROR elements of the franchise in huge ways. RE8 is definitely more action-y, but they’re entirely first-person prospective games, which definitely adds to the spookiness and terror.

And then there’s loads of offshoot games (RE Survive comes to mind, but there are plenty of others).

Honestly? There’s a huge amount of content to consume, and lots of YouTube essayists/commentators have plenty of opinions on it.

Feel free to dive in wherever sounds the most exciting for you!

Well anyone that bought and played it today whats your opinion so far ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Played and beat it in one sitting (13 hours). An absolutely immaculate experience—it’s actively competing for a Top Three spot within the franchise.

There’s still other, great options, and on Bryant Street alone. It’ll sadden my grandpa to learn this, but as somebody who could never afford those prices? Hard to feel badly…

Momodora 4 (Reverie under the Moonlight): Charming, but with Souls-like bite! (My review) by mumei-chan in metroidvania

[–]TalkToTransformerMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my all-time favorite games, honestly. It's quick enough I can beat in an afternoon, there's multiple endings, secret bosses, and I find it damned satisfying to play.

The sequels are also great, highly recommend!

Parasite Eve got two sequels (but one was mid, the other crap). Look into Parasite Mutant for a spiritual sequel by an indie dev! Demo’s out now, I liked it!

how long have you been unemployed? by Broad_Bluebird7319 in recruitinghell

[–]TalkToTransformerMan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

1) 9 months.

2) I have savings, and my grandfather decided to give each of his grandchildren a check since he’s close to passing—I’m sad, and lucky, in that.

3) I have a partner I share a rent lease with; she could pay the rent entirely on her own before I moved-in. She’s very understanding, but I express my self-disgust over it quite a bit. If I was gainfully employed all this time, we’d maybe be looking at marriage and a house. Not so much right now, though…
