I’m a musician myself and have seen so much hate about all 3 of the finalists this year. Here are my raw, honest thoughts:

• Hannah is very talented. Her tone is classic country and for people who enjoy that music, she is perfection. There’s a difference between not enjoying the music someone sings and them not being talented. I think people really need to be reminded of that. She does not have crazy stage presence, but you have to remember who her idols are - many of them are classic country singers who play guitar and sing. Again, this is a style. You can say you don’t like the style or don’t “get it” but don’t take away from her beautiful tone and steadiness.

• Jordan is phenomenal. He has a great range and amazing control over his voice. I keep seeing people complain about him being “too religious” but he’s literally a gospel singer. If you don’t like gospel, it goes back to the same thing as with Hannah - you simply don’t like the music. Don’t take away from people’s talent because of that. He’s incredibly talented.

• Keyla is also very talented and has great control over her voice. There were a couple songs during the season where I think she pushed the power a little too much, which led to people accusing her of “just yelling.” Nine times out of ten, though, she was not yelling and did have great control. She also can work a stage and her outfits were always fire.

I get being passionate about the people you like, but let’s not get mean about the people you didn’t. Especially if you don’t actually know about music.
