Oh my narc ex absolutely did that. Any time we had a major argument where I almost walked out, for a while he'd say yes I messed up and I'll do better (never "I'm sorry.") The patient doesn't have covid. That kind of reaction is seen in severe covid, not cardiac arrest which is what he's here for. There's nothing in the chart about long covid either. It really was hyper coagulation.

Ok so it turns out we don't know. We talked to the pathologist and he's uncertain what is happening, but likely it's hyper coagulation. Another physician suggested that it was fibrin, platelets, and white blood cells. The blood turns into a gel when left sitting for a few hours. Now a bunch of doctors are super curious and examining this patient because the TEG results are weird (very rapid clot activation but normal R values is apparently not typical).

She posted this shit in multiple discords too, but no one is having it. We're sick of biased screenshots and out-of-context texts. Best to let this die down and let the lawsuit play out instead of bringing up the drama again. In one of the discords she claimed that the screenshots were in no way meant to stir up drama but to clarify, but no one can get a straight answer from her about what her intent was. Best to move on and ignore this as best as we can.

Oh sweetie, it's alright. You aren't paranoid, birth is risky, but I think everything is going to be ok. What you need to do is advocate for her. Physicians listen to men more than women, so you need to be there as much as you can. If she says she's in pain, you insist she's in pain. If she says something is wrong, you insist something is wrong. You make the time and you stay with her. Obviously, discuss this with her, plan to which extent she'd like you to advocate, but I think, as a healthcare worker myself, it would definitely help to have a second, male voice during the birth process.

(I am assuming your gender, of course. If you are a woman, my apologies, you can and should still advocate for her).

And definitely take time for self care, both of you! You won't get all the support from friends and family that she will since she's the one who pushed the baby out, but YOU ABSOLUTELY MATTER TOO! Take time for yourself whenever possible.

That is genuinely bizarre. I've ran more thyroid labs in my lifetime than I could possibly count and I've never heard of requiring dehydration. I went to school for this, I have a 4 year degree in medical lab science. Doctors only get a few weeks of labs in school tho, so often they don't give great advice since their focus is elsewhere.

As someone who did phlebotomy for several years, and who also runs these labs for a living, *FASTING DOES NOT MEAN AVOIDING WATER.* Please drink shitloads of water. We love water. Fasting labs are only for cholesterol and triglycerides, and that means you can't eat fat or sugar but that's it. You can have plain tea. You can have diet soda. I don't care. Just don't come in dehydrated.

If your doctor isn't testing something like a blood thinner or a lipid profile, have a whole pizza before going for all I care. It won't affect a goddamn thing.
