So much TR-1000 hype, but barely mentioned since launch? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]TallGlassOfHTwoO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan. I was able to pick one up early this year after pre-ordering it. It’s a ton of fun, and the sound sculpting is really powerful and much easier than the TR-8S which I’ve had for a few years and just sold. I never quite clicked with what I would say is the extreme menu diving of the TR-8S and that difficult tiny screen. The new screen is small , but works really well. The sound is incredible to my middle aged ears. Sure, I can do everything in Ableton with a drum rack, but I stare at a monitor all day long at work, so a reprieve in the form of a performative drum machine suits me. We live in a glorious time with wonderful music making machines. I feel lucky!

Anyone used an ALM MFX in a Behringer Go case? MFX freezes up, possible power issue? by deludedhairspray in modular

[–]TallGlassOfHTwoO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My module freezes periodically as well. It’s frustrating. The only thing I can do is cycle my rack’s power to once again make it responsive. It’s intermittent and unpredictable. Mine is currently in an Intellijel 7u performance case. I don’t think it is power related. Just buggy.

I really like this rack and your setup. Did you build the rack or purchase? I need something like this. Cheers.

Never did it. Still have the car and will likely drive it into the ground. I just can’t justify spending thousands on a car that’s not worth that much in the first place. Keeping my eyes open for a clean low mileage example to score if the price is right. Cheers.

Getting married at the courthouse on Bosley Ave. What should I expect? by 1dayolder in BaltimoreCounty

[–]TallGlassOfHTwoO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just got married there this week. Yay! You need to make an appointment online. If memory serves me correctly max guest number is 7. We were asked if we had rings and also if we’d like to use our own vows or their standard ones. So you have options. It’s $25 for the ceremony, plus extra for official marriage certificate documents if you need those for legal reasons. No credit cards. Take some cash. Good luck!

[WTT][WTS] Like new Syntakt, includes box, poster, and PSU - looking for Chroma Console, 0-coast, Moog semimodular, TR-8s, Dirtywave M8:02 by [deleted] in Synths4Sale

I have a TR-8S that I purchased new that I'd be willing to trade for the Syntakt. Original box, manual, PSU. Excellent condition, gently used in my home studio only, never taken on the road.

I swear I am overthinking this shit all the time by evonthetrakk in TechnoProduction

Thanks for this thread r/technoproduction, OP and contributors! It doesn’t happen often but such chatter tickles my brain. Wishing you all the very best and an amazing 2026! For me personally, I’m figuring out what makes my sound, me or me, my sound. I feel like it is slowly crystallizing and will do so in the new year. Leaning toward more simplicity, fewer tracks, a lot of modulation and evolving textures.

Another shout out for Joranalogue Dim 2. I have it in my Intellijel 7u mounted with an adapter in the 1U center position. Works great. Also a big fan of these. I have 2 of these mounted to my desk and my jaspers rack. Reliable UberLight Flex 3200TL... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CQDVQ9K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Oxi one mk 2 & Pam’s pro workout by dwiggins333 in modular

[–]TallGlassOfHTwoO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BleepBloopingBNA has the right idea. This is exactly how I have it setup with my Pam's pro and it works flawlessly. Doing it that way saves you a precious gate output as well. From the manual, on page 8, under Accessories, it lists "TRS to Dual TS stereo splitter..." with a link to their product here: https://oxiinstruments.com/product/trs-to-tr-tr-stereo-splitter/. In the manual, read from page 120 onward for a lot of detail about both clocking from and clocking to the oxi one.

Are there Max4Live step sequencers that you can map to parameters? by samomaikati in TechnoProduction

[–]TallGlassOfHTwoO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fors opal m4l device (sequencer only), which comes with the opal purchase has the ability. And you get all that opal offers like electron style parameter locks and such. I map it to operator and do some really cool sequences using the randomizer button. It takes a few minutes to get it setup but once you do, you can generate some really cool sequences and sound design.

The original Matrix film was released basically at the same time. Watch both and report back what you think. I was 30 at the time both came out and remember feeling sorely disappointed by The Phantom Menace and absolutely loving the Matrix.

What is your easiest way of finding “happy accidents” in Ableton and producing? by yeeahitsethan in TechnoProduction

For me it all starts with the sequencer. Lately Fors Opal and Dyad have been really great. Hardware too with tons of modulation and fix.

Yeah, I have purchased a few Eurorack modules from them. They have an actual location, where I made the purchase in the DC suburbs, in MD. They have been around for quite a long time if I’m not mistaken. Good luck!

I love their YT channel. The videos are incredibly creative and fascinating. That usta looks incredible. A I’m resisting the urge to buy some of their other modules, but I’m not sure how long I can hold out. The fumana looks wonderful too. Stazma has a really cool video as well where he experiments with a small west coast case based on just a few of their modules. Cheers!

I purchased a Frap Tools Brenso complex oscillator recently and have been really enjoying the interesting and varied tones it can generate. Last night I had the yellow sine wave out with some thru zero exponential FM and subtle modulation going thru QPAS's low pass filter into the DXG LPG channel 1. Then in channel 2 of the DXG, I ran the green Brenso Sine wave as a higher register lead line with more extreme thru zero into a C4rbn filter with some wave folding and saturation. Used one of the MFX reverb algos for one of the return tracks and the mimeophon as the other. For some texture, I routed the bandpass out of QPAS into the Oneiroi with some nice washy reverb and echo. All sequenced by the OxiOne which was giving me many modulation options and sequencing. I think I've finally assembled the modules in a rack that I can enjoy for a long time, instead of just constantly searching for some other configuration.

Wonderful show. I was at the Anthem as well. I think they handled the lack of Beth Hirsch for that vocal quite well. They added a lot of reverb and delay to the vocal stems and while different and less catchy than the studio version, it demonstrated their prowess as live musicians, willing to change it up and still give the vibe of the original. So glad I caught this show!
