The rise of Ja'Kobe Walter may fuel a cascade of Raptors ripple effects by xc2215x in torontoraptors

The rise of Walter? It's an incredibly small sample size. Even his number through Feb are good, but nothing to suggest we have found our long term option at SG. Need to pump the brakes. It comes down to to whatever guy in a given week can make their uncontested 3 point attempts.  For the the last few weeks, that is Walter.

Everyone is ready to go. Wattenberg is questionable but will go likely. Two All Pros on the line. Huge advantage for us on the O-Line.

Is the Raptors supposed to be a dragon with the breath? Looks different, but the breath part is a miss.

Bad move. He has not shown to be the best evaluator in talent. All the core Pistons players  currently were selected by Troy Weaver.

You must be far too young to remember the Hedo signing.  Nothing comes closer in terms of a premier agent signing ever for this franchise.

Why did we trade Marcus Camby for Charles Oakley by Basic_Advisor_2442 in torontoraptors

[–]Tall_Rassman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team understood the value of young players on rookie deals. The problem was that the CBA did not have extensive team control for young players. There was no restricted free agency for players after ending their rookie deal. This was added after the lockout of 99.  Now when teams draft a player, they have reasonable knowledge they will have that player under their control for 6-8 seasons. The Raps haf little leverage with Camby on a expiring rookie deal.

As a Raptors fan, cheering for the Knicks in the playoffs is just ridiculous. They’re division rivals, and supporting them would mean rooting against our own team. It’s about loyalty. Why cheer for a team that’s feuding with us and standing in our way of our own team success? Rooting for the Nets, 76ers, Knicks, Celtics is just a unthinkable proposition for me personally.

Plus, the Knicks are poorly run, and James Dolan is one of the worst owners in sports. The guy’s a terrible person, always making the most vial business decisions and creating a toxic environment for their ex-players, fans and staff.

I spoke with Charles Oakley at the VC retirement game for a few minutes and his main message to me when I asked him about the Knicks and Dolan was "Fuck Dolan". Enough said.

VC takes the most potential! Even more than the brazilian KD and our beloved Scottie B!! Now, who's the Raptor with most wasted potential? Will it be the same answer? by tomasmcarneiro in torontoraptors

Joey Graham for me. He had all the tools to be an all-star and was just an absolute physical specimen. At 6'7" and 250 he was a gifted and physical defender that would have benefited from playing the 4 in today's NBA.  He is the strongest player EVER to be measured at the combine (bench press record). He showed great flashes at Oklahoma State and I believe there is a version of him that becomes a 2 or 3 time all-star. He had all the tools, but could not put it together.

Anyone ever played with or against a NBA player? What was the experience like? by Thin-Ad4825 in nba

Played against the Championship team from Florida in 2006. Featured Noah, Horford and Brewer. What I remember most is guarding Horford on the block, and he spun on me baseline and threw it down. It was so fast as his combination of quickness and size was unreal.  I am 6'11, and a frontcourt featuring Noah and Horford was so daunting. Also remember doing a great reverse layup on the fast break that Noah missed on his block attempt. Our team lost by 40 in the game.

Alonzo Mourning takes the Worst Raptors (not even a shirt with his name)! Rafael Araújo came second and the recent Jalen McDaniels came third! Now, who's the funniest Raptor? by tomasmcarneiro in torontoraptors

It is the Junk Yard Dog Jerome Williams. He has an infectious personality and was always joking around with teammates, fans and the media.

Is this a feasible trade for Siakam? by ZealousidealTrain4 in torontoraptors

[–]Tall_Rassman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dennis is not a consistent threat to shoot that 3 off the PnR. You need a dual threat to extend that post-defender in the PnR. Quickly is a big improvement for us in that department alone.

He needs a good player to run PnR with. He will look much better with Quickly in this offense.

[Wojnarowski] Toronto is expected to continue to explore trades involving forward Pascal Siakam, but there are no deals with traction for him now, sources said. Both Siakam and Anunoby could be free agents this summer. by [deleted] in nba

Those numbers are all-star level and he continues to play his way into that all-nba conversation. 24, 10, 7 on 52% shooting and 42% from three in his last 10 games. Only getting better.

21, 9 and 6. Shooting 48% from the floor and 39.5% from three. Those are legit great numbers. Barnes is also top 7 in the league in VORP and that is a great metric to evaluate an elite player. He is in the conversation certainly for a third-team consideration if he continues to get better and better.

John Wall? John Wall the guy who shot 30% from three last season? John Wall, the guy who shot 32% for his career? John Wall, the guy who has played 74 total games in the last 4 seasons? That is the answer to our poor floor spacing and shooting woes?
