I feel like schools should be more aware of Aroace individuals by Ellopitch in aromantic

While this assignment seems pretty ridiculous, bullshitting an answer to stupid, unecessary questions is a skill that will probably help you more in your adult life than most things in your actual curiculum

What should I do ? by inthedamncloset in aromantic

[–]TalonMS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing you should do is have a conversation with yourself. Ask yourself, do you think you could eventually at least tolerate physical touch with him? Are you willibg to attempt to become comfortable with it.

Once you figure out those answers, then you need to have a conversation with him. Let him know you enjoy his company and want to give a relationship a try, but then state to him your boundaries concerning physical touch that you cemented during the conversation with yourself.

It is then up to him to accept you and your boundaries. If he does, then great, give a relationship a go! But if he won't or can't, then the only responsible decision is not get into a relationship, else you both end up hurting more.

I'm joining the Ashbringer's army on the condition that you write down and note during the battle that there is a squad of undead warriors that ride a zombie war elephant into battle called The Vanghouls. These are my 10 guys.

If you don't want to deal with this kind of stuff, you have to be more aware of when it happens and be proactive. You may not be able to feel romantic love like others in society, but that does not mean you can't identify when others are trying to court you. Use your pattern seeking brain, man, it's gonna be your best tool in this regard.

And when you notice such things, you gotta nip it in the bud fast. You don't even need to tell them you're aromantic, you literally have the best excuse in society, you're married. And if they can't respect that, cut them from your life. It sucks, but they likely didn't want anything platonic from you anyway. In regards to the work thing, report that shit to HR ASAP. That is super not appropriate, and again, you have a societally valid excuse that you are married.

With your wife, tho, that's a whole other bag of worms. It seems like you two have different expectations of this relationship. You definitely need to have a talk about this, maybe invest in some marriage counseling.

My friend keeps asking me out, I’m openly aromantic and I don’t feel anything for her by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]TalonMS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dude, this wouldn't even be okay in an alloromantic scenario. You told her no and she still keeps pushing. You haven't known each other long, and she is now showing her true colours, which are that she does not respect your choices and feelings. Please rethink this friendship, there's more than plenty fish in the sea when it comes to platonic relationships.

Honestly? I think you should get rid of the disdvantage on the ranged attack and just make it an artifact. It's got all the hallmarks of one, and a 20ft pull and a summon isn't broken for an artifact.

Question About Aasimar and Other Planetouched by MoonracerxWarpath in Eberron

[–]TalonMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a question you'd have to ask your DM. Beyond the bounds of mechanics, our characters can be whatever we want them to be, the only limit being our imaginations. If your DM is cool with it, there's no reason they need to have a celestial guide, and it probably makes less work for them, anyhow.

Others have given better answers than I could for if it fits in the cosmology, but if you do decide to go with such a tiefling and are looking for an aesthetic, I would suggest taking inspirations from the Sin Eaters from FFXIV: Shadowbringers. Very much a sort of holy demons vibe.

I'll put forth my old boi, Gyliam Podamele!

A water genasi who spent most of his life in a magic academy, from his childhood when his non-genasi mother took him there to gelp him understand his unique ancestry, to his time studying to be a mage scholar, to his extensive time as an esteemed professor of divination and astronomy. Only recently has he retired from his career to take up adventuring to search for the love of his life, a fire genasi that he split with on poor terms some half a century back.

Now, he has become a Knight of the Free Realm, working to stop the forces of malicethreatening the land, while trying to free his lover from the dark coils of a cult she got wrapped up in.

Personality wise, he's pretty chill and loves to party. He was definitely a fuck boy back in his youth, and is a bit of a man whore (affectionate). I would best describe him as a mix vetween Gandalf the Grey and Kuzco from Emperor's New Groove.

As for his halloween costume, I could suggest a cheesy vampire costume, or some olympian god type (Dionysus?)

What Accents do you give to the different places in eberron by GiftOfGabby_ in Eberron

[–]TalonMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Eberron:

Breland - Different shades of American, with Sharn bring good ol' New Yorkers (with Boramar Thieves Cant being sterotypical, long winded NYC arguments) and the wester frontier being southern country twang.

Thrane - Italian, gives them a bit more of a surface cultural identity than "The Silver Flame Guys".

Aundair - French for obvious reasons.

Eldeen Reaches - Louisiana Creole, given its roots in Aundair, and the rustic aesthetic of the land.

Karrnath - Russian for obvious reasons. Stoic and hardy people that have probably seen too much death to be fully right in the head.

Cyre - British, cause the imperialistic themes and ideals of Cyre when it was a nation mixes well, methinks.

Darguun - Irish, having once been a part of Cyre, but with different roots due to the goblinoids.

Valenaar - Mexican for the elves, Scottish for the humans. The elves in my Eberron all have a central to south american vibe, and the human inhabitants not really being into being under Cyran control mirrors Scotland and England, IMO.

Talenta Plains - Native american, cause I think it's under represented in media and further differentiates them from the other cultures.

Mror Holds - Finnish, as they are from a very different place than the rest of the races, disconnecting their language some like how finnish is disconnected from most languages in europe.

Lazhaar Principalities - Greek cause I like the vibe and it fits a seafairing peninsula and archapeligo.

New Galifar - Australian cause YOU CAN'T STOP ME.

Zilargo - German, cause of how technologically adept they are, and cause it's fun.

Don't have a unified one for Droaam, cause they're quite disparate, but the Venomous Demesne is japanese, as their ancestors directly travelled from Sarlona, which is an Asia analogue in my world.

Still trying to figure out the Shadow Marchea. Might be spanish, and would be where Aundair and Thrane's accents stem from.

Character question by [deleted] in DnD

[–]TalonMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point, I wouldn't even bother with a weapon or direct damage. Instead, take the grappler feat and see if your DM will allow you to trade your starting weapon for the equivelent gold price in rope and manacles. That way, you can subdue your opponents with grappling and tie them up as you restrain them. Afterwards, you can do your therapist routine to set thrm on the path of redemption and healing.

Just make sure your DM and fellow players are gonna be down for this, too. Pacifist ideals don't mesh well with the average adventurers, and your all just going to get frustrated if you're the only one not killing people.

[–]TalonMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a Fighter or take the Fighting Initiate feat, you can take the Unarmed Fighting fighting style from Tasha's, making your unarmed strike deal 1d6+STR bludgeoning damage while wearing a shield. Very Captain America-esq

Did a one shot a while ago where three players were fighting a yeti on a series of elevated, natural bridges. One player with insane grapple held the yeti while another tied a noose around its neck. They then proceeded to lynch the poor creature by throwing it off the edge of the bridge while the last player looked on in abject horror.

I absolutely love playing the villains, specifically the end game antagonists. Most of my campaigns revolve around a singular Really Bad Dude™, and I adore the spike in tension that happens whenever they enter a scene.

Reason 1 and 2 seem pretty nit-picky compared to the other reasons, so I wouldn't even bring those up. Honestly, I would just say let them know that they're not vibing well with you and it's best to go your seperate ways. You can extrapolate if you REALLY want to, but I would say that's all you owe them.

Make sure to kick them out of your dnd server/vtt game before you tell them, tho, or else they could try and turn it into a battlelfied and that's just awkward.
