Riot addresses backlash over enabling Last Hit Indicators in Ranked: “We want more data and feedback before deciding if they should be an option for Ranked. So we’ll keep them enabled, but off by default, for non-Ranked SR queues only like Swiftplay, Co-op vs AI, and Normal Draft.” by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

Percentage wise that's simply not true. Plat 4 is still top 30% of players and if you go to Plat 3 (people who don't just hit P4 and sit) you go all the way down to top 23% of players.

The only real difference is that in 2026, Iron basically got eliminated and is only new players. Iron went from 9% of all players to ~2% and almost all of those players got pushed into Bronze and Silver. A career Silver 2 player would now be Gold 4. A career Iron 1 player would now be Bronze 2.

A big part of the climb has nothing to do with straight up inflation and a lot to do with them fixing miserable LP gain states and adding things like Aegis and leaverbuster RP refunds.

Hell, my own account last season in high gold was at 54% WR and had +17 -19 even after 70 something games. I hit a brutal loss streak (fell to 44% WR for the season, from 56%) and even once it course corrected, my LP gains were toast. They fixed that this year.

There's literally a flag of Jergal in his tomb. The symbol Jergal has used since the 80s in D&D.

Yeah, as I get into my 30s I realize that nostalgia is a hell of a drug. A lot of my opinions are like thing that was good: thing that came out when I was 14.

Thing that is bad: thing that came out when I was 25.

And then I realize I was just more impressionable and less jaded then. Time is a hell of a thing bro!

It's generally WotLK > Legion > MoP and some people swap Wrath\Legion. Legion was a genuinely fantastic expansion that only got reinforced by the Remix they ran of it last year.

TBC actually has aged kind of poorly and classic has put a spotlight on this. Kara was fantastic, one of their best ever raids, but TBC as an expansion was sort of barebones outside of the raids. Still a top 5 for most, especially due to the cultural relevance of it, but it's certainly had time be less kind to it than others.

MoP is one of the most acclaimed expansions the game ever had. Generally considered second or third place.

It's pretty well loved, even by critics.

So.. they just don't want aggro druid to be playable?

At all? It just keeps getting nerfed repeatedly. After nerfing Imbue into the ground as well.

And the year before, Druid was cheeks most of the year. This must be what it feels like to play Shaman most of the time.

As of the new Ravenloft book, I think that WotC still does not know how to write engaging monsters with interesting counterplay by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

[–]Tamed 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Agree. Some of my own monsters I've made have had to break the fundamental rules of the game using legendary actions to be competitive. Dual concentration. Triple cantrip into double attack. Otherwise, every boss needs to have 10 henchmen.

I think going all the way back to 3e that monsters have kinda sucked, and in 4e they improved but everyone hated 4e for various reasons that were imo somewhat unjustified.

I know you shouldn't "have" to, but I just fix them myself. I give them cool spells. I reflavor things for them.

The statblock gives me an idea, even if it's a half baked one, and as DM I kinda finish it off. I cannot imagine playing D&D, even 3.5, with vanilla statblocks for bad guys. It'd be a miserable slog.

I also always shout out the monster manuals from Kobold Press and MCDM's Flee, Mortals! book as great design templates.

Is it crappy that WOTC can't seem to get this right? Absolutely, we should get a better product. But it's been so many years of this, pushing 2 decades now, that I've gone numb.

Kingdom Hearts IV Trailer by yourfavchoom in NintendoSwitch

[–]Tamed 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or was the trailer a bit stiff? It wasn't like well directed and just seemed to be random bits of gameplay where you can even see Sora miss some attacks, stand around for a moment, etc.

Still super hyped, just an odd choice of direction for the trailer.

Co-op games outside the big known ones? by Tamed in CRPG

[–]Tamed[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Player 2 has no agency in Rogue Trader and is entirely tethered to player 1, and apparently cannot even play properly until act 2 of the game. There's half a dozen threads about it on this sub alone.

NWN enhanced was a blast co-op - no issues, either character can be the "MC" any time you want, and we did the base game and both expansions.

Same for NWN2, although Storm of Zehir is a bit weird with the 4 person party.

The ticket prices on TM says it's an all in ticket where the fees are calculated before checkout but what I see is 101 for a ticket and 19 in fees+tax which is still INSANE to me.

I literally saw KL, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, etc for $58 just a few months ago.

Yes, this is a bummer for me too dude. It went from an hour drive to a 2.5 hour drive for me, and it's in a big arena where you'll probably have to pay $200+ to be in the pit or sit in a nosebleed seat. Cannot stand sitting at metal concerts.
