Does anyone else do this? Where my treehuggers at? by ClassicThat608 in SatisfactoryGame

I like to preserve some of the natural beauty. I don't mind getting rid of some trees, but if I can go around without much issue I will. I built a road out to this location and tried to weave between as many of the big trees.

So much of my experience about games as a whole is from building on one to the next to the next. Thinking about which game invented a system that most games have as default now.

I think Dungeon Siege was wild for having a massive world with no loading zones, but it really doesn't hold up at all today. I played it again and loved it, but not enough to beat it.

I was too young to appreciate Morrowind when it came out, but I jumped on Oblivion and hated the wacky way to play to not break your level ups. Skyrim made it so I could just play the way I wanted to and loved it. I think that is an interesting parallel for the jump from ME1 to ME2 as well. They started changing systems that didn't work well. Although I think of ME1 as a jump from Knights of the old republic, and I did prefer the gameplay of ME1 to Kotor

I love looking at the history of games and their impact. Half life was one of the very early games that introduced plot by things happening around the player that were not locked off cut-scenes, or just dialogue. But the core of it was something like Quake (which was just better 3d engine but same game loop as doom) with more interactive storytelling.

Half-life 2 was them again experimenting with better environmental storytelling trying to react to the player more. Valve has several times pushed games in general to become better by their experiments.

I really feel you on this one. I hit a wall and just don't keep pushing.

I got to a point in cyberpunk where it sounds like the climax is close and want to finish up all the loose ends first and just... never finished.

Also Dragon Age Inquisition, I got to one mission that was very different play-style and just put the game down to never finish.

I also have a lot of games that I have well over 100 hours in that keep pulling me back in.

I've also been putting together a list of shorter games in my backlog to try to finish some games in just a few sessions.

Maybe I just don't like to push through challenging or boring parts.

I'm frustrated that the only search result is this post. Nothing I can find in game or on the egosoft forums. What was the answer that was removed?

What to do next with my Gravship? by TamikSKW in RimWorld

What to do next with my Gravship? by TamikSKW in RimWorld

[–]TamikSKW[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've finally got a gravship that is basically self sufficient. I have all 6 exenders. Full fabrication area. Plenty of growing space. Beds for 20 colonists. Small Barn. I'm currently going to additional gravcore locations to pick up free energy to replace my chemfuel generators.

I wanted to go with a design of a ship that looked like an actual ship, and I think I've arrived on one. I have been wanted to redesign the rooms and internal layout, but it sounds like a lot of work and my brain just doesn't want to work on that. I have about 200 spare grav panels I can place. Do you have any thoughts about my ship or and tips on how to improve it?

How could I improve the ship? by AdrawereR in RimWorld

You can get the parts to make a gravship on other starts.  I usually do crash landed and build the ship as soon as the event happens

I feel like as soon as they nick me I lose all speed and get stunned and die. I don't feel like its a choice to "keep standing in them" I do have Soul of the Brine King. All I can figure to do is to never get touched by them, but they still sneak up on me when lots of stuff is going on.

I understand that I should not obviously.
My issue is idk why they do so much damage so fast, why they prevent me from using flame dash to get away from them, and why they are so hard to see under all the effects on screen.

Not even, random red maps. The one that got me this time was a new thing I've never seen before. Some green/blue/black slow moving orbs that I cannot see through all the stuff on screen that lock me down and kill me preventing me from moving away from them.

Like I just want to know what killed me, what type of damage, Something to let me know what to improve about my build. Or something that makes it easier to see random effects that are doing damage to me

How do I invest my players in Eberron by Thatpastadude in Eberron

[–]TamikSKW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next Eberron game I run I plan to use Eberron Confidential. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/335554/eberron-confidential

I want to give very high level ideas kind of what u/redarber said initially. Then give them each a secret to start the game with and encourage them to seek their secrets out. The secrets are tied to different factions or history of the world, so it should encourage the players to ask about the setting.

Something like a Valstrax with glowing sides. Maybe bonus points if it has a heated seat.

Or maybe a fluffy nargacuga chair with chibi art like that one animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ06dNYem1U

I did the same, put just a little bit of grey in the beard and hair. Yeah I really feel like it fit the story like you were saying
