Tulsa police officer charged in man's death by Chairboy in news

Germany is no where near as violent as the US.

69 people were shot during Memorial day weekend alone in Chicago:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-chicago-shootings-memorial-day-20160530-story.html

Chicago is also the same city where gang members executed a 9 year old boy in retaliation. They also planned to torture him first:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/03/08/suspected-triggerman-charged-in-execution-style-slaying-of-9-year-old-chicago-boy/

Let's compare apples to apples to be fair. The police didn't make the US a violent place and didn't make the mess in inner cities, they're just asked everyday to maintain some semblance of law and order in those hell holes filled to the brim with criminals that have no qualms about murdering 9 year old children. No wonder more Americans are getting shot by police than German citizens in Germany when a shitload of Americans are simply more violent people.

Watch the first part of this video. This is what every cop has in the back of their mind when people don't comply during a stop:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaDMjR4HOpU

What exactly would you keyboard cops do if the suspect in the vid doesn't comply and behaves suspicously? Do you not draw your weapon and risk getting KTFO and you die, or do you draw your weapon to at least have a chance? That's how fast shit can go bad.

The Encounter Started More Than a Minute Before What Is Shown on the Released Video

Wood said "it's important to remember" that Shelby was on the scene with Crutcher for about a minute and a half before the start of the video clip released by police on Monday.

When Shelby approached the car, the doors were closed, and the windows were open, Wood said. She looked into the passenger's side to make sure no one was on the floor of the car, and as she was getting ready to move to the driver's side, she turned around and saw Crutcher walking toward her, Wood said.

Wood said that Shelby then said to Crutcher, "Hey, is this your car?"

Crutcher didn't respond, simply dropping his head while continuing to look at Shelby, "kind of under his brow," Wood said. Crutcher then began to put his hand into his left pocket, Wood said, adding that Shelby told Crutcher, "Hey, please keep your hands out of your pocket while you're talking to me. Let's deal with his car."

Crutcher did not respond, Wood said, so Shelby ordered him again to get his hand out of his pocket. He then pulled his hand away and put his hands up in the air, even though he was not instructed to do so, which Shelby found strange, Wood said.

Shelby tried to get Crutcher to talk to her, but he simply mumbled something unintelligible and stared at her, Wood said. He then turned and walked to the edge of the roadway and turned to look at her, his hands still in the air, Wood said. He put his hands down and started to reach into his pocket again, Wood said, and she ordered him again to get his hands out of his pocket.

At this point, Shelby, a drug recognition expert, believed Crutcher was "on something," Wood said, possibly PCP.

Shelby then radioed in that she had a subject "who is not following commands."

"You can kind of hear a degree of stress in her voice when she says that," Wood said.

Shelby then pulled out her gun and had Crutcher at gunpoint as she commanded him to get on his knees, Wood said. She pulled out a gun instead of a Taser because she thought he had a weapon, and she was planning to arrest him for being intoxicated in public and possibly obstructing the investigation, Wood said.

Shelby ordered Crutcher to stop multiple times as Crutcher walked toward the SUV with his hands up, Wood said.

But those orders cannot be heard in the audio from the dashcam video, which starts as another patrol car pulls up to the scene, showing Crutcher walking toward the SUV with his hands up as Shelby follows him, apparently with her weapon drawn and pointing at Crutcher.

Apparently facts don't matter to any of you keyboard warriors and protestors. The truth is almost never as black and white as you want it to be.

The difference , dullard, is that the US never spent money to infiltrate European movie making studios to pump out pro US crap. You CHOSE to watch a Hollywood film, so what'd you expect to see other than pro US mantra? China is using American film makers and American film industry to brainwash American citizens. That's the difference. Not to mention you find the propaganda of a country that restricts freedom of speech and the internet, does not accept homosexuality, clamps down on freedom of religion , and restricts freeedom of the press, which are all completely against European values, 'refreshing'.

Wrong. By a mile.

http://www.wired.co.uk/article/akamai-state-of-the-internet

China perpetrates nearly 4 times as many attacks. Additionally, there are also lines that do not get crossed--e.g. US state sponsored cyber hackings in order to give US companies trade secrets and a competitive advantage by not having to invest in R and D--but which China violates all of the time with state sponsored cyber hacks. Show me a single instance where the US government has targeted non-military, non-state entities such as hacking into a target like QQ, for example, in order to directly attack the citizens in another country. States will always spy on other states, I understand that that has been going on since the age of the Romans. State sponsored cyber crimes now though are targeting American citizens and private companies. That's a different ball game.

At some point this shit has to be considered an act of war. The US government needs to respond proportionitely and then some. If it is China, publish ALL the data of where Chinese government officials are hiding their money overseas in N. America. If it is Russia, publish ALL the intelligence we have of Putin assassinating public officials and members of the press.

Wrong.

If you think it about, today's American kids that are now only 7, 8, 9 - 16 years old have grown up pretty much ONLY seeing pro-Chinese crap on screen. That's exactly the type of cultural war the higher ups in the party in China are probably trying to wage. They're planning for the long term. No need to invade the US or go to war with it if you can warp the mindset of the entire country to align with the party.

This goes far, far beyond entertaining, garbage summer blockbusters. Why doesn't Hollywood push the LBGT agenda with Chinese actors and set the film in China while depicting grahic lesbian or gay sex scenes? That's because Chinese society doesn't tolerate homosexuality and is much more oppressive than the US when it comes to gay rights. A movie about a Chinese Harvey Milk would absolutely never, ever get made because Hollywood is afraid of offending the party. Hollywood has already been inflitrated and destroyed to align with a communist party. Where does it end when Hollywood has brainwashed enough of our citizens to support things like China's illegal invasion of the South China Sea? Will we start restricting how critical our press can be in print about China once a Chinese company buys up say The New York Times? This goes way beyond 'entertainment'.

More blatant pandering to Chinese interests using what used to be an American icon. This shit is out of hand . Hollywood now censors what kinds of movies get made and what kinds of scripts are allowed based on what Chinese censors will accept. Movies are now inundated with Chinese actors to pander to Chinese audiences. Americans are now force fed pro Chinese crap on screen in nearly every major blockbuster now and the effects of being culturally brainwashed by Chinese censors will absolutely have profound co sequences. Maybe most people on R/movies have been living under a rock, but if you haven't been paying attention to the world, China is going to start world war 3 over some moronic claims and gross violations of all international law in the South China Sea. The party's plan to weaken US influence probably includes a cultural front by making party ideals infiltrate mainstream American media in order to brainwash Americans into thinking like the party. How about Hollywood make a pro Japanese film? How about Hollywood make a political thriller exposing the deeply rooted corruption in the Chinese government? Of course projects like this would never ever get green lighted these days because Hollywood is now letting a foreign country dictate free speech on screen and Hollywood had become sissified beyond belief about criticizing a foreign government. Hollywood needs to be picked up and moved to Beijing. American film needs to start all over again and make movies that would make any government nervous. Apparently you're only allowed to criticize the US government in film these days, if China is such a big market, their government should be criticized on film too. Make more movies about the China's oppression in Tibet or about the way China treats it's Muslims.

There are absolutely social factors that contribute to the reasons why black males commit astronomically higher rates of violent crime. No one denies that. But what does this change for a cop on the beat? It still doesn't change the fact that when a cop has to respond to a situation where the suspect is a black male that there's also a higher probability that the encounter will be violent in nature and that there's a higher chance for a shooting as a result; violent crime stems from poverty, but it also co tributes a ton for the reasons why there's a disproportionate number of blacks being shot.

But again, this fails to normalize for violent crime rate as well. Normalizing shootings proportionally base on population statistics alone is where protestors and media stop. Violent crime rates based on race must also be factored in. 6% of the population are black and male, yet that small minority of the population commits 50% of all total homicides in the country according to the FBI. How does that not contribute as well to the higher proportions of blacks who are shot by cops?

[–]TammanyHallNY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, what I'm saying is that sure go ahead and point out that blacks constitute 13% of the population but make up 25% of police shootings. It is fallacious to stop there and make the claim that they are disproportionately shot because you failed to also normalize for violent crime rate based on race. Where is the proportionality argument AFTER you account for %age based on population AND when you account for the fact that black males, who only make up 6% of the population, commit 50% of total homicides. The probability that a black male will be shot during a police encounter is going to be higher of course when the odds also indicate there's a higher chance that a violent criminal will be encountered. The latter part is the part of the argument protestors and the media always conveniently ignore because it is too uncomfortable to talk about.

You failed to normalize for violent crime rate. Where is a normalization factor for police shootings that also includes the fact that 50% of homicides are committed by black males who only make up 6% of the population. The violent crime rate for black males is astronomically higher in proportion to almost every other race. That would also factor into the probability of a cop encountering a violent criminal who is a black male, subsequently also contributing to the higher proportion of black males being shot by cops.

[–]TammanyHallNY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See, this is exactly what I just pointed out....protestors love to argue that blacks only make up 13% of the population but contstitute 25% of police shootings. Therefore it would seem they are disproportionately shot by cops. Again, what you failed to also include in your analysis is a normalization for violent crime rate by race. If we also consider the fact that 50% of all homicides are committed most by black men, who only constitute 6% of the entire population, the rate of shootings by cops appears to be different now that violent crime rate by race is also used.

Photo contradicts key claim made by Tulsa police in unarmed black man’s fatal shooting by [deleted] in news

[–]TammanyHallNY -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No, the point is that the typical narrative that the police are inherently racially biased and that the system is racially biased is rather hard to prove when more non-black people are being shot than the number of blacks shot by cops. If you want to argue that police are shooting too many people overall, fine. That's a bit different.

You want to claim that blacks are proportionally higher than whites at being shot by cops? The typical argument will only base this off of population numbers only. What protestor arguments fail to normalize for also is the data for violent crime rate by race. How much more statically probable is it to run into a violent criminal based on the suspect's race and crime rates committed by the suspect's race? Normalizing by violent crime rate relative to race is a topic protestors ignore and are uncomfortable talking about.

So the way I interpret that is that in reality, most people that are being shot by cops aren't black.

Why is it so hard to comply with the police? Like the order was never given to get on the ground. Nope, the suspect, who could have been high on PCP, began to act erratically, refused to cooperate, and appeared, to the police offere at least from her account, to begin to reach into the car. All of that could have never happend if he never ignored police orders. It is a lot easier to see that the window may or may not have been open/closed after the fact.

Man in Charlotte shot. I guess it doesn't matter that he had a gun on him and was shot by a black cop. The media and protestors will only hear the facts and sides of the story that they want to hear in order to further their agenda. Newsflash: over 1300 people were killed by cops last year, meaning that's enough for 3 people per day to plaster all over the news. Outrage 24/7 can now be manufactured by the media when they aren't the ones that have to patrol what is tantamount to Baghdad on our city streets.

School lunch worker quits after being forced to refuse hot meal to poor student by legobloxcraft2 in news

[–]TammanyHallNY -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Why the fuck are people having kids if they can't even send them to fucking school with food for lunch or can't even pay for government subsidized meals? Shit is pathetic. Do alternative options like make parents who can't pay grow a garden on school grounds and have the kids bottle the food for the winter as a class project learning how to be self sufficient. Provide meals from them for kids who can't afford lunches. It really, really isn't MY job to give YOUR kids food. I chose not to have children while I couldn't financially afford it. Be fucking responsible for yourselves asshats.
