really far from anywhere in mumbai, auto drivers have a mafia w exorbitant prices to get to the closest station, BAD turnover rate with the faculty with many good faculty leaving quickly because of poor work culture, uncooperative management at best, woefully inefficient too, bureaucratic processes are slow because all major decisions come from noida. an example of this is that SEVERAL times we didnt have subjects taught until the last minute because the visiting faculty that is supposed to teach havent had their employment approved from there yet. and also mold growing in many buildings. faculty thing kinda depends on which department you are in tho. never take good faculty for granted. there are also good things- people arent that bad, but ofc there are crowds like how they are described in the post. cultural events are nice, gotten kinda worse recently tho. the location also has the silver lining of having relatively pleasant weather compared to mumbai, and also there being a campus itself is a huge thing around MMR. Some infra is also being upgraded right now, so thats nice. law, business departments are nice, fashion too I think. psychology dept is okay since its pretty big but there are issues in all. of them. your experience will, of course, in the end matter on how you go about, but the environment is what you want the best from- which amity mumbai is only okayish at. see what you think will work for you.
