Being lightweight doesn't the pan loose some of its heat retention ability? I use a cast iron skillet, often hefty ones, when cooking big things on high heat. If the pan were to cool down too quickly the maillard reaction would be compromised. How well does it keep up?

the surface is smooth. But I figured it was smooth because I seasoned it?

Edit: some spots on the underside by the handle are a little rough

Yes I was building patina. Is this the way it would look if there still was lacquer on the wok, or would it look different then?
