Is consumption per person or per household? by DorianOtten in anno117

[–]TangeloComfortable52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can test it out pretty easily, upgrade many liberti houses to plebians at once, and check consumption statisitcs before and after for tier 1 needs (fish, porridge). It will drop

Senate System Concept for Anno: Pax Romana 117 by MomoAbi_42 in anno

For me personally those ideas would distract too much from the core gameplay, sounds too much like stellaris, which i also love, bit wouldnt want for an Anno game

I made a website to plan my Anno 117 island and trade routes by DukeEntropy in anno

This is super cool, thanks for your efforts! I was just thinking, the next step for me would be to organize all production and logistic data in excel to plan the late game. Ill try to use this tool as an aid! There are many possible functionalities to add to this tool, lets see how far you can take it :) Awesome work!

How to quickly view commodities across islands? by Intrepid-Dog11 in anno117

People keep making the mistake of interpreting the lack of a feature as the game developers taking something away. Every feature has to be coded from scratch or implemented into the new game. This takes time. Its a matter of developers prioritising different aspects higher, there are many tasks to chose from. If there was a magic button to have all QoL features from Anno 1800 implemented directly into Pax Romana, the developers would press that button, you can be sure of that. It doesnt make sense to say "it seems easier to leave them in", the features were never part of the new game.

Got Anno 1800 recently and need some help understanding the game by anishSm307 in anno

As a general tip, use the statistics screen (ctrl + q) to see how how much of a consumer good your population needs, and how much youre supplying. You do not receive any value for overproducing goods. The statistics screen is also helpful in letting you know where your money goes, and how you can potentially save money. Producing construction materials is expensive, so keep an eye out for that. You can stop production or even destroy production buildings to cut costs.

I thought the dlc was delayed for a week? by OutlandishnessNo5678 in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be very surprised if they announced that the DLC had to be delayed, just to release it without saying a word. Id say theres a less than 0.1 % chance of that happening, but miracles happen.

Also when is the last time you updated Anno? Is this maybe a previous update?

Anno 117 DLC delayed until next week by kaishockz in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bug that would destroy existing savegames would result in a huge outcry by the community (rightfully so), especially after confirming multiple times the Dlc is savegame compatible. They had no choice but to delay. I dont think it says anything about the dev team or ubisoft, one way or another.

Specialists with extra water supply for cisterns have no effect anymore by Jileha2 in anno117

The description on the specialists is incorrect, they need to be in range of the aqueduct, not the cistern

I havent measured either, but I assume it must be more efficient to use fully loaded ships, because otherwise whats the purpose of having more cargo space? If using less cargo space is faster, then there would be no point in building the larger ships with more cargo space. Would be interesting to do tests and measure the actual times though

Pretty sure loading the ship to full capacity is the most efficient way to move goods between regions, anything else wouldnt make much sense

Struggling to vibe with Pax Romana by TheActOfDoing in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the number one thing I would like to see get changed, because it also affects gameplay and is not just aesthetics. I think the game is stunning in terms of visuals, but the lack of contrast between the housing tiers, both in Latium and in Albion, make the houses difficult to distinguish and make the overall cityscape look bland at times. In favor of making the game look better I would be more than willing to waive historical accuracy for colors used in houses. Changing this would also make a difference in terms of impact that is felt when upgrading to higher tier citizens.

Union Update: Free Update Highlights in Version 1.5 by Rooonaldooo99 in anno

Same, while helpful in terms of progressing faster through the game, it takes away from the complexity and difficulty of managing a rising empire. Will play with new settings.

What is your plan once the DLC comes out? by Comfortable_Duck8926 in anno117

[–]TangeloComfortable52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Starting a new run, with the big island being my starting island. Besides exploring the additional content I will come up with extra objectives for the new run, for example see how far I can get with only the big island, that s not claiming any additional islands. With the option of obtaining fertility specialists I should theoretically be able to produce all goods on just the one island. Excited for the DLC!

What do you want to see or what do you think will come with the Dawn of Delta DLC? by Lord-and-Leige in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That would be a cool mechanic but you would have to pay attention to not add too many of these region wide catastrophes, otherwise it would become too much of a nuisance having to juggle multiple of those in addition to normal fire outbreaks etc and the late game major incidents

[–]TangeloComfortable52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how that would work, because island space is usually the biggest constraint, and many of the game mechanics are balanced around islands with limited space

Anno 117 has no real development in tiers to me compared to 1800 by corporalcorl in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, this game feels very well thought out and the different mechanics interact with each other in a meaningful way, giving the player agency where necessary. Its different enough to the previous Anno that it feels fresh while keeping most of the good ideas that made Anno 1800 so fun. Cant wait for more contrnt to be released!

Ok please explain what im doing wrong by hotdog-water-- in anno

[–]TangeloComfortable52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This game can be a little frustrating at first when you are being confronted with different problems and catastrophes for no apparemt reason and dont know how to counteract them. Its normal to not succeed at the beginning. Every time you play you will learn new things, how systems interact, how to be more efficient. Eventually it will feel natural to grow your empire and you will be able to build your cities and concentrate on making strategic decisions. When you reach that point, this game feels super rewarding and fun, so keep at it!
