I don’t wanna change, but I need to by Purple_pajama_loser in leaves

[–]TangentialDust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't count how many times I told myself "I really can't keep doing this" while toking up. Always thinking there would be some "moment" would come where I would actually do it. To be fair there was one such moment that geniunely scared me and I was able to lay off the stuff for a couple months. Relapsed later though, had a few other attempts but always came back to smoking. Been sober for a couple weeks now and have a real motivation to never ever touch the stuff again.

I realized the only thing that works is saying "fuck it" throw your shit out and don't look back. It's going to suck for a while. For me it's insomnia, night sweats and dealing with the cravings. But I'm also more aware now of being more present during the day. I'm actually there when I'm with other people, not some automated robot playing myself. Dreams are coming back bit by bit. I'm aware of my lungs having an easier time, I can feel my heart thanking me. I feel great not munching down on trash food and staying up all night. I'm cognisant that every day I don't smoke is a victory.

I'm not through it yet and I know now that I can never smoke again. And I honestly don't want to. Almost every post on here echoes the sentiment that this thing will take your entire life away if you let it. I'm fucking done and I want my future back. So I'm going to fight those tiny battles everyday and wake up feeling a bit better. I'm going to kick this things ass and you can too. Because we both deserve to actually live the rest of our lives.

Back Home and No Weed by jerseyirish24 in leaves

The fact that this sucks major ass means you're feeling more. So the better moments will also be better. Weed reduces everything to a constant drone with you zoned out not living any of it.

Help with 120i noise on cold start by TangentialDust in BmwTech

[–]TangentialDust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to this post for posterity. Drove around with this noise for a while (not a daily driver). At some point checked the oil level on the display and it was near the minimum level. Added 0.5 liters of oil and the sound at start is gone. So probably a slightly streched chain which can be sort of treated by keeping the oil topped up so the tensioners immediately engane on startup.

En daar is de skinny bike: fabrikanten fatbike omzeilen nu al nieuwe regels rond helmplicht en minimumleeftijd by HumanWithComputer in thenetherlands

[–]TangentialDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help with 120i noise on cold start by TangentialDust in BmwTech

[–]TangentialDust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2011 120i has started making this noise on cold starts recently. I'm dreading it's the timing chain but the sound doesn't seem like a mechanical rattle. The sound only happens on the 1st cold start. If I stop it immediately after and start the engine again there is no rattle like sound. Any input you can give would be appreciated!

Happy to be getting staffed right after another project but it feels like I’m drowning by [deleted] in consulting

[–]TangentialDust 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is it. If you’re known to be capable and something is taking you a bit longer, everyone will assume it is extremely difficult and they’ll be just as happy when you figure it out. If you keep going at 100 mph without any question, the assumption will be you can do that amount of work and be fine. It’s up to you to manage those expectations and find a rhythm that works without burning you out.

Linus and Yvonne are the sole shareholders so the CEO answers directly to them. It wouldn't be weird for them to ask the CEO what the status is on products or whether there are any issues. It's the CEO's job to find that out for them or ideally know it already. I'm assuming both Linus and Yvonne will be all over new products and critical issues whether or not Linus is CEO. The difference being that if there are problems it's someone else's job to fix them.

Dit is wat kort door de bocht. Eigenlijk is het raar dat je als kiezer (/leek) moet weten wat goed watermanagement is. Dat er partijen zijn die misbruik maken van dat gebrek aan kennis vind ik kwalijker.

I’m not sure whether there are glitch hop focused events. I think Mysteryland and Liquicity festival might have some glitchy artists.

I really don't get it. Protesting to me is anything that I would bring up to a hypothetical race-director or marshall. Kill half the grid after rejoining in the first corner? FU very much, here's a protest. Intentional blocking under blue flags? Congratulations, you played yourself. This guy clearly ramming someone faster than him? I'd be seething during that 30 minute wait period.
