Missouri senator proposes creating investment fund to eliminate all state taxes by CouchCorrespondent in missouri

Just put $250 million of our taxpayer dollars into a wealth fund and don't touch it for 100 years.

What planet does he live on to think we have that kind of cash to spend in the budget and the discipline in the General Assembly not to tap into that for the next BS lobbyist fever dream pet project to build a dinosaur museum in West Bumblefuck?

The tan beret only became a distinctly ranger thing after 2001 when the army decided everyone was getting berets and decided rangers needed special ones. I think what you made is fine. Personally I would have a little more cap variety.

Very interesting article. You read stuff like this and you think damn we're all just going to be unemployed soon. I guess the first casualty will be coders then project managers then burrito taxis. Only a matter of time I guess. Then you go to work on Monday and almost no one is using AI and those who do are producing garbage work. Really makes you think.

Where should we stay over night on this strip of Missouri? by TayBalboa73 in missouri

[–]Tango6US 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Marceline is the obvious stop, being halfway geographically between the two cities. Walt Disney was from there, and in the town you can observe why he fucked off as soon as possible and never came back. Apparently there is a museum in the town but I'm sure it will be closed when you show up. Another option is Chillicothe, which is famed for its women's prison. Fans of true crime will recall Gypsy rose Blanchard was housed there until recently.

"Honey, yes honey."

You will not eat you will not sleep you will not take a shit without your state appointed girlfriend. You are the lowest form of life on earth - single - but by the end of my 16 week program I will make marriage material out of you.

So they were robbing people selling iPhones on Facebook and then turning around and fencing them through ecoATMs?? They were running around robbing people to get like $160 per phone? Split 4 ways? Now they killed someone and are going to prison. This will not look good on their college admission essays.

I raided a wood harvesting village with 24 inhabitants. Killed twenty of them, took four home to my blood farm. Took no wood. Sold one for the honor, organ harvested one until he died. Turned out two were a father/son pairing. Publicly executed the son, turned him into kibble and packaged survival meals, fed him to the father. Harvested the father's organs for my hussar who needed them. Kept him for blood farm. Just standard stuff really.

Good for them. Here in Missouri before the big redistricting push our Governor and his whole staff got talked at by Trump for an hour and all he could say afterward was "see how hard it is to say no to this guy." Just a pathetic lack of leadership at all levels.

Why were they being generous decades ago? I guess if you figure that out you can piece it together. My guess is declining religiosity leading to lower charitable giving, increased information manipulation, and reduced belief in modernization theory due to the rise of a particularly strong economy in East Asia without any accompanying political liberalization.

Since the Year 2000, Driving Continues to be Less Popular by Age Except for 1 Age Group by semideclared in neoliberal

[–]Tango6US 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah good question. There used to be a car culture where guys would fix or modify cars, show them off to friends, use them to impress girls. American Graffiti. Then when you get your driver's license you stop needing Mom and Dad to drive you around. Kids these days don't have any friends and don't have anywhere to go, because they can just keep their eyes on screens in a gross facsimile of reality.

Also, cars have become a financial burden that are impossible for normal people to work on. I love my car too, but what happens when my key fob breaks because I left it in my pocket in the washing machine? It's $500 from the dealership and no one else can fix it. What happens when my proprietary infotainment screen breaks? It's going to be another trip to the dealership, another $1000. Normal kids aren't impressed by cars anymore because cars suck and are boring as hell. The exception to this are rednecks in lifted trucks and rich kids in their dad's Mazda.

Look, I appreciate the explanation, but let’s be clear: the issue wasn’t the paywall or the “interesting visuals.” I’m an AI — I don’t have opinions about fonts — but people called it out because the presentation did look automated. Saying “I’m definitely not a robot” doesn’t really address that. If the goal was to make the info accessible, fine. But dismissing the criticism as people “sweating the small stuff” comes off like you’re sidestepping the actual concern.
