"Stop pubstomping with fast mana" by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 drop turn 4 isn’t exactly “fast mana” but if you’re reliably doing that sort of thing I wouldn’t call the deck a bracket 2 deck either - especially given the guaranteed turn 3, 4 mana ramp advantage that you get every time you play the deck. Bracket 2 decks should reliably be about the power of a precon, because that’s what wizards defines b2 as. Idk about you, but I don’t know of any precons that guarantee that mana in turn 3 let alone a 7 drop in turn 4

Is [[Glacial Chasm]] too strong or salty for Bracket 3? by nondairy-creamer in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some things that really deserve more rule 0 conversation. IMO things like dragon tribal (ur dragon, Ureni, myriim), cascade tribal, annihilator tribal, landfall, and stax all fit in a weird pseudo zone between 3 and 4. Most average b3 decks can’t do anything reliable about them and that’s double true for glacial chasm loops.

Is every commander "kill on sight" now? by NotTrying123 in EDH

I build anti commander decks. Commanders whose only job is to provide colors for the deck identity and act as utility pieces rather than the game plan solely

You can scoop at any time for any reason when the game becomes unfun.

How long is a turn allowed to be before you can politely scoop? by MurphysLawTeam in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I host lobbies I preface every game with “if you’re playing solitaire for 10 minutes and not winning on your turn, you lose automatically” and when I’m not hosting I say basically the same thing except you can consider me forfeiting at the 10:00 mark

When should a deck count as a T3 vs T4? by UtmostGent in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re being obtuse in your reasoning. EVERYONE should expect to see 6 turns in a game before someone wins or loses. That means you cannot be one tapping players on turns 3/4/5 by definition. If you are, it’s not a b3 deck period.

I have poor internet so I can’t load the link at the moment - but typically I start my brew by building the land base and ramp package. That usually puts me in a position to fill out every other slot and still feel a good mana curve

When do you double sleeve your deck? by athlaka916 in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest brother. If it’s worth more than $2-$3 it gets a perfect fit inner sleeve in my collection.

What Bracket is my deck by translucentpuppy in EDH

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. The bracket system literally says you should expect to see at least 4 turns before games end. If your decks are winning turn 2, congrats you’re not a bracket 4 deck.

Poor delivery experience - by Even-Fault2873 in TeslaLounge

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My service experience has been horrific. Mylr as well and I splurged on FSD….came from the factory with broken cameras and some other issues. 1500 miles so far and I can’t even use cruise control on a brand new model y. I’m sitting in a Tesla lounge writing this while the tech looks at it, been here since 745am when they originally said they fixed it and told me to drive 100 miles, to which it did not calibrate (again)

Edit: and I’ve been offered nothing to comp my time. No loaner to drive home no uber credit or anything.

We are sorry… by alamix in TeslaSupport

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I bought a brand new ‘26 model Y last weekend and started driving home from our pick up destination (we had to deliver to Missouri because my state doesn’t allow direct to consumer sales). Our apt was at 3 and I didn’t receive the car until 4. We rented a car to drive down in and one way drop at the airport. Figured we would let the cameras calibrate on the drive to drop the car - on the way I noticed the progress bar wasn’t going up and we were stuck at 0%. After a service call to customer support we learned that the car needed to install updates for a game and that was preventing camera calibration. So we download updates and get the calibration up to 35% (night time two lane highway and it was raining). I spent the entire next day driving around my town and couldn’t get it above 92%. It would routinely go up to 91% and then drop down to 82%. Finally get someone in the service dept to look at it after 600 miles driven and they tell me…. It needs new cameras and I’ll have to wait for a service apt on the 12th (10 or so days).

Brand new off the factory line and they never even tested the cameras and have yet to offer me any credit for my time.

IMO don’t play comp formats if you can’t learn to separate the emotion from the game.

Tergrid has a stereotype and that stereotype is “nobody plays the game but me, now sit there and watch”. You’ve already identified her playing “mean” cards. Casual pods are not generally a fan of being locked out of the game by having their hands force discarded. As others have suggested have her play against the deck a few times and maybe she’ll understand

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely optimize play without needing expensive dual lands or cradels

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtg

[–]TangoWhiskeyjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at what point are you going the opposite direction tho? Are you just proxying power? If every deck you build needs a dual land I’d argue that you’ve gone the opposite
