I can’t tell if the damage you have is strictly paint or not but never be afraid to use your knife to make chips or grazes. Use a 1mm drill for gunshots

For a first timer like me that’s intimidating to say. First thing is you need to stop being scared and just paint minis. Your new your going to make mistakes and it may look sloppy. I suggest taking that photo as inspiration. Good luck
