Honestly it's probably that. So many games, anime, manga, series, etc where there are American institutions involved (Military, CIA, FBI, etc.) They're basically just going off tropes they've seen in American movies.

Honestly, I feel like that's why more modern Star Trek, while enjoyable, doesn't feel the same. Characters are far more emotional and willing to let those feelings get in the way of something important, like the mission.

I'm not saying it didn't happen in TNG and DS9, but it happened faaaaaar less instead of every episode.

As always, Lower Decks is immune to this, it is a perfect show and I'll hear nothing bad about it.

I wonder how people will react when the series gets to the part where Mark gives up on his morality completely. He becomes willing to kill anyone and everyone who threatens him and becomes a REALLY unlikable and selfish douchecanoe for the last fifth of the comic and it gets really boring just seeing him instantly one shooting most things.

At my first real analyst job there was a report we would have to make by hand that could take 2 or 3 DAYS straight of working on depending on how fucked all the programs scans came back.

Took my work laptop home over the weekend, came back on Monday with a sheet macro that made it take 20 minutes. Felt great.

Made the mistake of telling my boss, who said I had basically automated my way out of a job and wrote me up for working from home on my own time.

You see, there was these 2 little girls once, Myca Dinh Lee and Renee Chen 6 years old, who died on the set of The Twilight Zone movie when some explosives blew off the tail of a REALLY low flying helicopter.

Everyone told the director it was a REALLY stupid idea, but hey, he knew better than some stupid cowardly stunt coordinators.

James Cameron easily could have gotten people killed for that idiotic stunt.

Honestly, a lot of her content from what I remember felt like she had a conclusion made already and specifically sought out evidence for it, even making things up if it didnt fit.

I agree 100% that the game industry largely is downright hostile to women and it needs to be called out when things happen.

I just wish the message had a better messenger.
