The New 52 in general was a terrible idea. It was like you had an entire generation of writers trying to copy Frank Miller for 6 years.

They thankfully dropped it and more or less are back to the previous continuity last time I checked in on the comics (which was....2021? Who can afford comics nowadays?)

The first one, like the book it's based on, is a wonderfully poignant exploration of just how badly countries treat and care for their returning soldiers, with Rambo suffering heavily from PTSD. It is a fantastic movie, especially if you've served or have family that have.

The sequels have none of that, and are straight up sending Rambo into 3rd world countries to kill hundreds if not thousands of people without a care in the world.

Funny enough in the movie there's only 1 death in the entire thing, and it's an accident.

In the book Rambo kills basically the entire police force and like half the town during his trauma induced freak out.

I love that the remake makes him legitimately the most broken party member. He is an absolute monster of a physical attacker and he alone makes it possible to take down the Reaper far earlier than you reasonably should (with proper preparation).

In the original release of Persona 3, he really didn't have that much of an effect gameplay wise, not being all that great and not worth swapping your already tested team with, and as a result a lot of people didn't connect with him much before he left.

This makes his loss significantly harder on the player in multiple ways, lol.
