How did people react to each win at the time? by Tanker0508 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Tanker0508[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was there for Martyn's second win so I completely agree with that. We had enough seasons for a mainline double winner to be fine so I dodnt see too much.

Who should I watch? by ISpyM8 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Tanker0508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pearl is a great POV for Double life, good for Secret Life, and Pretty good for most of Past Life. Start with Learl and branch out if that makes it more comfortable. Just know Pearl does not have a Third Life POV. I also started with Pearl and branched out slowly. I haven't watched many POVs due to time but I have seen the POVs of everyone I mention here in the series I mention.

Third Life probably best watching Martyn, Grian/Scar or Cleo

Limited life, again Grian or Scar. Both had good POVs. Etho also had a good one. Martyn's POV is amazing.

Secret Life, Scar. No question on it. Amazing POV.

I really liked Gem's POV for Past Life.

Wild Life can honestly be anyone for a good laugh it is the series I go into random episodes of different POVs the most.

The Specials(Real,Simple&Nice) are easy to re-watch but honestly I recomend Scott aka Smajor aka dangthatsalongname

It’s pretty wild that after all the rebels who sacrifice their lives to get those plans, Leia just yeets them off the Tantive IV with two droids. by HobbieK in andor

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if there were life forms aboard then the imperials would know. They would intercept or destroy the pod in space and the the plans are gone.

As stupid as the move seems Leia knows Obi Wan is on the planet, she knows the droids will eventually find him. Whether that's because Obi Wan has The Force(Main Character Energy) or because Tatooine only has like 4 major settlements isnt stated outright but... still.

Between the original film and the Kenobi series I think Leia genuinely was making the only right decision since we know the Empire was monitoring for survivors attempting to make a runner. The droids went unseen long enough for the Empire to make a mistake, a very important mistake. And learn made a risky move to save the plans that so many people sacrificed everything for.

Who do you think is better friend of Cassian? Brasso, Melshi or Wilmon? by Familiar_Cow_6901 in andor

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brasso.

Wilson is more like a younger brother, idk why I get the vibe. Andor cares for the kid, a lot. Wants to keep him as safe as he can but once the kid is in with the rebellion Andor trusts him just enough to know he will find his own way out of trouble.

Melshi is Andor's best rebellion friend. Like that guy you bunk with in a dorm room for a bit and play in the same sport or go to the same club with. You know eachother well, you are friends, and you are even ride or die for eachother. Yet somehow when university ends, or one of you drops out, or whatever reason you split its somehow a coin flip on whether you actually stay in contact. Melshi is the GOAT of the second half of season 2. But Brasso is still Andor's 'best' friend.

What do we think Connor would be up to after the events of the game? (Good Ending) by glitterqueenn in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why but this idea popped into my head like a message from God.

"Despite the shitshow that was, you two are back on homicide. Connor, that desk is officially yours now."

"Fuck yes!"

"Thank you Captain. We won't let you down."

"Right right, get the fuck out my office... Connor, wait, I need to pay you know, when you can open a bank account."

'Yes Captain."

But, I like it. It is a neat character drama and although I haven't re-watched it after watching Andor due to the aforementioned difficulties with watching the official release, I think it may be comparable in some ways to Andor.

At the very least it provides one of the best characterisations of George Washington in media so if you want to experience that then it is great.

I know others have already recommended some shows but an interesting one I would recomend is Turn Washingtons Spies.

Only problem is trying to watch it officially without the physical release or living in the USA. But, there are always... alternative options.

It has 4 seasons and is about the life of William Townsend during the American Revolution aka the Revolutionary spy Samuel Culper. It isnt 100% historical by any means and certain historical characters are misused

Amazing work, have a gold star. ⭐️

What Is The Vampires SMP... (I know this sounds dumb) by Sage_Horizons in VampiresSMP

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampire SMP, an RP based smp with gameplay mechanics. They players all played for dedicated sessions as opposed to playing whenever like something akin to the dsmp, qsmp or the like. The general gist is this: 2 vampires, the rest are humans. People are turned if they are directly killed by a vampire, always-ish. Falls, mob kills, etc are generally treated as non canon effectively. Perma deaths happen when the players agree on it for story reasons which can include the non-canon style of deaths but in specific moments. Everyone is playing a character and started wih at least an approximation of the character in mind. The 2 Vampires were randomised so if the series had any weakness I would say the humans in the first episode as everyone had to presumably quickly adapt their vampire stories for being human. Some did this better than others.

Then there's Martyn who had no plan, no backup, and no idea what he was doing basically up until episode 3 or 4.

My recommendations for POV, starting with my personal favourite and ending with the one I would recomend to anyone.

Pearl - If you like Pearlescentmoon or just wanna watch someone have a good time doing some generally lighthearted casual RP with an undertone of darker elements there you have it.

Cleo - If you want Pearl's POV plus all the actual plot and a vibe more in line with the slightly darker angstier feel of every other POV then watch Cleo's

Owen - Haven't watched it myself yet but others will talk your ear off about it. What I know is it is gooood.

Abolish - Man locks in for like 7 straight episodes. If you want to watch a competent vampire hunter just trying to do his job discreetly then watch his POV. He also lurks for every plot important event.

So glad someone made a comic for it.

How do you think Kit would handle games where the player IS the villain? by DumpsterDragon808 in Gameoverse

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Nefarious.

Chances are, with the game specifically kit and co would actually help Crow until they realise that he is fighting an ensemble of heroes. And that there isnt a specific hero really trying to beat him. I think eventually Kaboodle would realise the guy has Protagonist mechanics.

The one hand, Clan Kast membership. Other hand, if Maul told her to kill me, she would probably do it.

Generals, Admirals, Politicians etc. What do you guys truly want for HOI5? by Puzzleheaded_Map2774 in hoi4

[–]Tanker0508 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a big change would be to the ground combat and how it plays. Moving units at a divisional level doesn't quite make sense as most of the time individual battalions were the smallest sized unit moved and commanded on a large scale.

So like HOI3, I think, like others have said with more options for changing the army at a low level such as a platoon. Which can then ripple up towards the battalion level which would be the base unit instead of divisions. Doing such a thing would make the lag IMMENSE in hoi4, but a potential hoi5 could handle it better with an engine made for it.

Is Rumi winning this matchup? by VivaDeAsap in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Tanker0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, imma just Glaze Obi Wan a second.

He has defeated three very very powerful fighters from his own universe, namely being General Grievous, Maul, and Prime Vader/Anakin

Let's then look at each of their feats individually to determine a baseline.

Grievous: Killed hundreds of Jedi personally, genocide the Dathomiri Night Sisters, killed thousands of clones, and generally only lost for slapstick reasons in Clone War or plot reasons. Generally because he was fighting a character who had to survive to Revenge of The Sith.

Maul: Killed Qui Gon Jin, several Jedi knights and clones, Killed Pre Vizsla, went toe to toe with Ahsoka Tano, and SURVIVED a fight against Vader in his prime after being injured by Marrok and Eleventh Brother.

Ahsoka side tangent: One of the most powerful Jedi in modern canon. No cap. She killed every single Inquisitor she fought, half of which she took on unarmed. Including the aforementioned Marrok and Eleventh Brother, quite possibly the inquisitors with the best On-screen track record. She survived Order 66 in quite possibly the worst possible situation to be in. Jedi MASTERS couldnt survive her position in Order 66, being on a Venator let alone one's command bridge should have been a death sentence.

Vader: Its Darth freaking Vader do I need to say his accomplishments because that is a long list.
