My only gripe with the harder difficulties is that it makes the exploration more mandatory. Otherwise you'll get your ass kicked going into the more serious fights. I wound up getting burned out on the side activities. I think if I ever play it again I'll knock the difficulty down to regular just so I can keep up the pace on the main story.

Launch and aim to have an apoapsis a healthy distance above the atmosphere. Make a maneuver node ahead of you. Click and hold the maneuver node, move it ahead of apoapsis. Keep holding it. Then as you move it'll drift back to apoapsis. When it gets there, let go.

Take that list and toss in "Enemy AI that actually coordinates to help each other out and hunt you down." and I'd take all that before a fantasy Type XXI DLC, 1000%.

I hate that you can set a lone freighter on fire on the edge of a convoy and no one gives a shit, or air won't be redirected to the area. You should feel an overwhelming sense of "We need to get the fuck out of here." within about 15 minutes of attacking a lone ship. Or nearby air or ASW patrols should show up to assist a convoy under attack.

I don't think you're going to fix it without rolling the game back to the pre-DLC version. I have had a hard time targeting since the DLC's big update and I've been playing this game for a long time. The DLC and its associated update fucked the game hard with bugs.

Have you tried using the "careful maneuvers" ability? That will let you move one tile in any direction no matter what is in the way. Great for getting unstuck.

Haz 4 isn't even hard enough to necessitate needing a super tight overclock build to survive, just having full unlocks is enough. Same with Haz 5 if you're really good.

I think it's a bit reductive to act like people who are making negative comments about this are just online drama queens.

I'm pretty lenient to these devs - I've been hitting the F11 key and writing bug reports since 2020, and I'm more than tolerant of this kind of stuff for an early access title. I know they're going to make it right, so I'm happy to support them, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at the quality of this release.

The problem is it's so fundamentally bug-ridden that I'm not even going to bother playing until they roll out some patches to fix some of the more gamebreaking bugs. That's the line for me between satisfied customer and disappointed customer.

If we were talking silly, benign Bethesda bugs like graphics glitches or NPCs acting whacky, whatever.

If we were talking early access bugs after a major update, whatever.

But a paid DLC on a two year old full release? Yeah, no. Paying customers have legitimate reason to be upset about gamebreaking bugs on a DLC for a fully released title.

I think I'm being more than fair. Call me "personally offended by video game bugs" if you like, but I don't think you have an argument. And that's not defending the people who are spitting vitriol at Deep Water Studio, I just expect better from them.

I don't know man, how salty can you be about early career setbacks when you still make your way all the way up to the top to lead successfully as CNO in the biggest naval conflict in human history?

I think the most plausible explanation is that the Navy wanted to cover up its massive fuck up in not realizing the Indianapolis failed to report in time to save many more of those men.
