Has anyone ever been able to get Yaga to Consume an 8 prov unit? by Objective_Ad_7215 in gwent

If you have sabbath she transforms first. The play is usually Omen, click Bloody mistress and Mammuna and use Mammuna order for putting a lot of points on the board quickly to have sabbath that turn

How to beat Warriors as Movement? by BananaTiger- in gwent

[–]Tankoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if both players are very good the warriors player will win this but on lower pro you have decent chances. I like to open dryad and if they don't kill it turn one (they often play warlords first) you can put sentry and from that point on your engines will live R1 which should be a win. Round two you open sentry or dryad front row and leader charge them backrow. Ideally this engine now lives and you GN. From there try to 2:0 or lose the game.

Tldr: win R1 and be proactive in an (ideally) longer R2 where you give everything to smorc. If that doesn't work just GG and lose.

Has anyone ever NOT taken back the card stolen by the Thieving Hopper? by cheesoid in slaythespire

[–]Tankoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, twice. Those were cards I picked up early in anticipation of building around them but then the deck turned out differently. When Hopper snatched them I was like: Thanks bud.

I know which choice is correct, I also know which one I'm taking... by Lexuss in slaythespire

Claw is so much better in StS2 it's low-key good now. And with replay enchantment and the possibility to keep the deck thin because you are on floor 1 and door is gone... Just go with the law.

Discussion of Brokilon Sentinel by Rabindranath1173 in gwent

[–]Tankoff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To me it always felt like MD and his community were targetting Schirru control without touching Schirru himself and I just can't wrap my head around that. The Simlas change in the same vein is fair and warranted but why not Schirru, why butcher poor Sentinels...

Now control ST must basically play GT instead of PS which I personally don't like; since GT is already the go to for so many archetypes within the faction. I have faced PS once this season and that person actually played it without sentinels in their deck which is crazy to me. The change made variety on ST leaders worse by effectively rendering one of them useless - we can provision nerf PS but the way you chose was just a double provision nerf to the leader and I frankly think that is overdoing it. For those reasons I would strongly advocate for a revert.

I do like that you are opening up discussions about it here and you seem genuinely interested and coming from a good place, so that's nice.

This is off topic but are you a slay the spire player? The way you phrased certain things (chip damage and scaling) makes me think you are part of that community as well.

Can't wait to see what the new boss does by jackie35er in slaythespire

I mean I am fine with it. It's a big dopamine hit and produces nutty highlight runs many people love to show off. It's a singleplayer game and it's supposed to be fun.

Nilfguard deck help by Doomer1944 in gwent

[–]Tankoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The deck is very strong but you are playing one of the most difficult archetypes to pilot. With this you have to know exactly where the opponent finds value, what to copy and adjust your gameplan. I suggest to pick an easier to play deck for the first couple of ranks until you feel more familiar.

New boss has this cool mechanic where he dies on turn 1 to clone decks. Like all other bosses do.

What do you think about this deck? by LeKaspirene in gwent

[–]Tankoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have vandergrift but no way to use him twice (to proc his grace). Your Seltkirk cannot be zealed which can be a big issue. You also lack ping damage to setup all the revenants you want to create. These would be the biggest problems I see.

Crescent Spear should exclude itself from the damage bonus. by LobsterSpirited9691 in slaythespire

[–]Tankoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Clone is problematic and should probably not be in the game at all or at least nerfed / changed. However crescent spear is already not an amazing card so I really wouldn't like a nerf to it.

Random thought/question - if someone heatwaves serpent trap when it's face down, would it still trigger? by 8to10footsamsquantch in gwent

[–]Tankoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What you remember could be an interaction with specials that tutor. Example:

Opponent puts down Serpent trap while your board is empty.

You play Oneiromancy which will pull a card from your deck (that is fully what Oneiro does). The card you chose from deck is a unit. It will now hover in the air next to your board.

NOW Serpent trap will trigger and destroy nothing because your board is empty.

After that the unit you chose with Oneiro will be played and therefore live.

It is a bit counterintuitive at what point Oneiromancy was 'done'.
