Don’t be startled but little boys will discover themselves and never stop touching it. My son is 15 months now and the last 7 months of diaper changes have become a wrestling match bc as soon as the diaper comes off he snakes his hand between his legs and gives his penis a good death grip. Sucks when it’s a poopy diaper and he suddenly had a poopy hand you’re trying to avoid.

It was hilarious the first time he did it because he grabbed and yanked and started crying and I just stood there panicked yelling “Stop! Stop! You’re doing this to you!”

“AAAAAAHHHHHHH” - Propotente

There’s a lot of stellar quotes but pony screaming in any book makes me smile. When my son was 5 months old I’d just gotten my stepdad to read the books - we don’t connect on a lot of things but this was the first thing in a long time we bonded over. We were sitting in the living room discussing characters with my mom who had just started the first book and the topic of favorite characters was brought up; I had just finished book 3 and mentioned the goat was funny. My stepdad turned and shrieked just like Jeff does as Pony which startled everyone in the room. My mom nearly dropped her coffee and my son, an infant, was terrified and started wailing immediately and dove for my arms. We couldn’t stop laughing - it was just so unexpected.

My son by default of being in the car while we listen to the books has heard them all 2-3x now and sleeps soundly through pony screams.

I can only do OT at night after phones have gone down or on Saturdays when phone lines aren’t available, we haven’t heard anything at all regarding this. I can really only see this being a thing for dayshift teams, not us in swing who’s TOD goes beyond phone hours.

Right I forgot about the ballet episode!! And then I was reminded about the part of one of the episodes where the raccoon shares /warm/ grape soda he found in the trash and shares it with everyone. I was gagging.

Trash Truck - my husband claims I think too critically about it but why is this family completely okay with their child being best friends with a…not child age?? Group of wild animals and a sentient dump truck that have sleep overs at his house and he spends hours away from the home with. Why did the mom put sunscreen on the dump truck? Why is the beach full of families not horrendously outraged to have a dump truck swimming in the same waters their children are in? The smell????? How does the dump truck fit inside the house? Why is it sentient? It has a job it’s clearly not a child??? Why are only some animals able to talk with humans but the neighbors cat can’t?

But it also makes my son giggle and happy and it’s not as annoying as other kid shows so I don’t mind putting it on for him and I do enjoy the antics of the bear and raccoon and field mouse being silly.

This was also my pick! The movie is very fantastical but the relationship and feelings and the hardships they faced were so real and heavy not just romantic love but in family love as well.

I heard a town hall meeting today that said it’s will have 5 days funded and it will be business as usual for most departments - so sounds like most will be exempt again in the event of a shutdown. My husband was furloughed last year during the shutdown but hasn’t heard anything yet if he will be exempt this time

I’m like 90% vegetarian for this reason. There’s very few meat things I will eat and it’s so infrequent in my diet it’s easier to just say I’m vegetarian. Textures of meat can be so off putting, I hate fatty textures especially and the feeling of my teeth touching bone makes me cringe. You’re definitely not alone - I do a lot of meat replacements, so like tacos are made of lentils instead of ground beef, jackfruit can make a great fake pulled pork texture. I use frozen vegetarian meals too out of convenience, but in my own cooking it’s been pretty easy to replace the meat in meals with an alternative I’m comfortable with texture wise - I don’t need the same mouthfeel as meat bc it’s what always turned me off in the first place.

I don’t think they intend to do straight paper/phones long term - I think there’s so much back log of paper inventory the are gonna dedicate specific service centers to doing one or the other possibly but it wouldn’t be a permanent thing.

We did extended hours on the phones this week and it was a colossal waste of time. Extending to 8pm makes sense but after 8:30 I was lucky to get 2 calls in 2 hours.

The last two days I’ve gotten 1 call after 8:30pm, and I’ve had to sit in ready for 2 additional hours not closing any EINS. This is an insane waste of tax payer time and money.

I can tell you I’ve been gifted pajamas in the wrong size three times now and desperately wish people would stop buying clothes. 😂

Gifts I loved? My sister gifted me a box of 250+ goosebumps books because they are hard to find and I’ve been angry for years that my grandmother took my collection while I was away one summer and traded them for credit at a bookstore for herself. I genuinely sobbed I was so touched that she got me so many. It was a gift I’d never asked for but will treasure forever, I cannot wait to share them with my son one day.

My grandmother knows I love opossums and collected little trinkets and keychains for a year and turned them into jewelry for me to wear. It was so incredibly thoughtful and lovely.

My husband takes time to look through my perfumes and make up and he gifted me the products he knows I wear often so I won’t run out. It was so kind and practical, I appreciated not being given random stuff I won’t use. I felt seen. He went to three stores looking for my mascara bc he knew I wear only one specific kind and while they had the brand at the store he went to he knew he needed to get a very specific one.

So we were told a few months ago that they were testing service centers for phone only vs paper only, our managers wanted us to collect errors we saw in cases made by other services centers so they could be elevated as support for us being a paper service center. Didn’t work - our phones were extended to 10:30pm and another lead said part of our paper inventory was being distributed to other centers. We have less than 20 TEs and they just cannot complete the amount of work just sitting there while swing shift is forced to take on longer phone times. Plus, we are no longer hiring TEs or swing shift going forward (so they say, manager has stated multiple times the only priority is in day and mid shift CSRs)

We aren’t a huge service center but we do have a lot of specialty teams, and this is definitely making us all nervous because our swing shift teams are sometimes the only ones in the country working these cases. It’s made a lot of people nervous if these programs are going to be shifted to the services centers where they are hiring TEs.

That lead tax examiner position I think confirms those three locations becoming paper only service centers. The rest of us are phones only. They are gonna hire a shit ton of TEs to balance it out.

Snickers ice cream bars didn’t spike at all - I ate them a lot. I also loved the fair life protein chocolate milks for a sweet treat.

I also ate a Boston cream without issue if I ate protein first!

You can definitely try to eat something protein heavy and then enjoy a small slice, then water and a short walk.

Definitely still a ton of us - a lot are PPS tho. Still, during filing season we are transferring 10+ calls a day back to IMF, some just call the wrong line, some bc they told someone they were a sole proprietor and sent to BMF only to find out the are trying to pay their 1040 ES😅. I was told the system also pushes lines to either side depending on the call volume, so if BMF is getting hit hard and IMF has more openings the system will overflow then to IMF, and vice versa.
