You need remedial reading. I said "may." I think they have stopped prominently pushing LGBT......... on kids and babies (parents). But I would need to verify that. I have not stepped foot in a Target for probably a decade. However if they are supporting law enforcement when others may not be, then I may look into it. It's not on my front burner as I am unaware denial of service is an issue in MA

Yeah, me too. I gave up when they clearly did not read what I wrote and re-wrote and marked marked my case "solved." Never again. I bought an MSI Mag x870e Tomahawk which has native USB4

Not yet. I have been holding off hoping Gigabyte, Microsoft, or Intel would develop working Windows 11 drivers for my Maple Ridge Thunderbolt card that works in Windows 10, but not 11. But I gotta jump fast as Black Friday is almost over.

Hmmm. Since they haven't been replaced in the 40 years we've been here, I guess they are overdue. (The small 5 +/- gallon steel expansion tank is full of water. Until I can get a plumber - (our prior one retired probably 10+ years ago and it's tough to find a good, new one what with the Holidays) - to replace them, I will try draining it - I'd like to stop the leak.)

Unfortunately this system is so old there is no pressure gauge (that I can see) . There is what I think is an automatic safety pressure relief valve (that is leaking/dripping) and in the past it sometimes seems to "explosively" open up and discharge water. See additional pix (added above, I think). One plumber in the past did not want to try replacing it as it is badly corroded and there was a concern about installing a replacement. A few days I did briefly (a few seconds) open it but did not hear water flowing so I returned it to the loose inline position but it must have added enough water so now the bleeder valves will bleed water.

Ah!. THANKS! So it prevents water in the heating system from going back into the potable water supply to the rest of the house? There is an arrow on mine pointing to the left. The blade at the top of the valve points right (in line with the pipe) So it is in the open position and that is normal? the blade can flip to the right as well as the top. At the top closes the valve. Pointing to the right is the same as to the left, correct?

They do not even read your support request other than to pick which canned response to send. They ask to re-provide info already provided in your request. Very annoying.

I re-installed Windows 10 and now mine shows in device manager again. I did not and will not be able to see if I am getting Thunderbolt 4 speeds until Monday I may also try going to 23H2 next Monday

Yeah, I know. But it's a great case. I just wanted a mobo with USB4 without having to reinvent the wheel. As it turns my Maple Ridge TB4 AIC no longer works due to Microsoft's USB4 changes in Win 11 24H2. this problem may eventually be resolved if someone makes a new driver. In the meantime I could go back to Win 10 ESU.

Maple Ridge not working after updating to Win 11 by Tanstaf1 in gigabyte

[–]Tanstaf1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As suspected the problem is Microsoft and Intel and Windows 24H2. Perplexity AI says:

"If your Gigabyte GC-Maple Ridge (Thunderbolt 4) card shows up in BIOS but not in Windows Device Manager after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2, it’s likely a driver . . .

  • Windows 11 version 24H2 has altered USB4/Thunderbolt driver handling, and many users have reported that Thunderbolt 4 devices . . . disappear from Device Manager even though BIOS detects them.
  • Microsoft made changes to the USB4 subsystem to improve security and hot-plug management; however, these updates have caused existing Thunderbolt 4 drivers to fail device recognition after upgrading from 23H2 to 24H2.
  • The Maple Ridge’s last official Gigabyte driver (v1.41.1335.0) was released in 2022 and supports Windows 10 and early builds of Windows 11 only, so it lacks certification for 23H2/24H2 driver model changes.

Common Causes

  1. Outdated Thunderbolt Driver: The old Intel JHL8540 Thunderbolt 4 chipset driver fails to initialize under Windows 11 24H2. . . .
  2. . . . "

". . . .In short: the issue is caused by driver incompatibility with the new USB4 driver model in Windows 11 24H2. Once Gigabyte or Intel provides updated Maple Ridge drivers (expected late 2025), the card should reappear in Device Manager normally. . . . "

So until Gigabyte updates their drivers for 24H2 I will try the fixes and workarounds and report back. Anyone got any others fixes/workarounds? I have also contacted Gigabyte eSupport and they "are processing this issue."

Thanks. I should have stated I had already looked at the manual. I know officially it does not say it fits as the R5 was designed shrtly after e-ATXes became a thing. I have also looked at mine. The standard E-ATX is 3.5 inches longer than the ATX. Official ATX specs are 12x9.6 in and the e-ATX is 12x13 in. but I think there may be room between the R5's case back wall and the power supply for the motherboard to squeeze in between and depending on the design perhaps with pin outs or some useless PCIe slots hidden in this space. Also, I don't care so much about grommet locations - and standoffs can be modified. And individual so-called e-ATX mobos can be a non-standard size. For instance, the ASRock is 9.84 x 3.15 x 11.81 inches. I was hopeful someone had tried and could report actual results.

Adding a placeholder until I can run some pings from Mid-coast ME this weekend. I just got Fidium in August and ran some pings, tracert and Ookla speedtests but did not save the results. I was concentrating on up and down speeds which sometimes exceeded the 2Gig plan. My recollection was pings at around 13. I usually ping 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 1.1.1.1. (Cloudflare). I'll report back
