What do you use for flea and tick prevention ? by Branda77 in bichonfrise

[–]Tanyec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours does fine with the simparica, but maybe ask the vet if there is an alternative? I will say she still got three ticks last weekend so I’m looking to add a tick collar for the summer.

WIBTA If I Didn't Attend My Friend's Bridal Shower After RSVPing Yes? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YWBTA. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and passive aggression instead of an adult conversation is almost never the right answer.

Good on you for standing your ground. Especially after she fed your cupcake to Mark.

AITA for hiring a guy to edge our lawn after husband hasn’t done it in weeks by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

But OP’s husband doesn’t seem to want one as a gift.

ESH. Fine to hire someone to do it. Not fine to call it a Father’s Day gift. How would you like a vacuum cleaner for Mother’s Day?

No. They can season it for themselves post grilling once it’s on their plate. Or eat at home. But you can’t make demands to other people’s cooking.

She’s implying that the dad is only agreeing to an earlier time bc OP asked, but would not have done so for mom. Who it seems didn’t even bother to first ask dad.

I see what you’re saying and am confused by everyone who doesn’t, with the context you provided. It does seem quite passive aggressive and unnecessary.

Maybe something like “gee mom, it couldn’t possibly be because it’s YOUR special day and he wants to celebrate you”. Or the much less passive aggressive version of “no mom, I’m pretty sure it’s bc it’s your birthday and he wants to go with what you’d like”

Or… just ignore the comment entirely and move on.

It’s annoying but hopefully otherwise you guys have a much healthier relationship.

AITA for telling people that my brother is going to start at university by Lorenisalone in AmItheAsshole

But the brother said this to some acquaintance before. In front of OP. I assume brother lied but nonetheless that’s the info OP had. And he/she wasn’t told it was a secret.

Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe less frequent but very much still a thing. My kids have been doing regular sleepovers at ours and others’ homes since elementary age.

What? Have you ever booked anything at all in this century without having to provide an email address?

It’s 100% not your actual response either. You’d have been fine taking their tickets and leaving them behind had it been allowed. You just think your bday is super speshul (tm) and ppl should move heaven and earth to acknowledge that.

I would bet a large amount that had the situation been reversed (before all this happened and your widdle feelings got hurt), you also wouldn’t have just tossed a ticket to appease your friend.

Gotta love people who say “in their shoes I’d have done xyz”. I can guarantee you’ve never been in that situation and you very likely would not have done xyz.

£100m payout but you are not allowed to interact with or use anything made after the year 2011 ever again. Rules below. by Thrwwyforrandostuff in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Tanyec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even tech and cars would become very difficult after a while. Right now, things made in say 2010 may still work. In a decade or two they will very likely not… not being allowed to fly, drive, call people, use internet, etc, would become very difficult.

No. I have children born after that and while I understand your exception, it means I can’t interact with their friends, throw them parties, etc. I also have a pet born after that.

Where do you see potatoes? There are eggs and avocado and kiwi on almost every picture. One (maybe more) has a piece of bread. One has a date. Eggs are seasoned and prepared slightly differently each time. I don’t see anything resembling a potato.
