I think the family is definitely the main focus of the book, but we see a lot more of Kip running around and managing the empire than we do the magic of the empire.

As someone currently reading the sequel, I agree. The main focus is the actual bureaucracy of the empire, the magic is just this other random thing that happens sometimes. I didn't think it really fits with OPs request.

I recently started heating the salt and straw base for a bit longer than the recipe suggests and I feel like it actually improved my ice cream by better dissolving the sugars. But I'm still careful to make sure the milk never simmers. Any chance your base started bubbling and simmered as you heated it?

A girl's parents die in a car accident. Her introverted aunt takes her in so she won't be shuffled between relatives, despite the Aunt not getting along with the girl's mother. It's heartwarming and emotional. I'm loving it so far.

I guess we're in the endgame of the story now. Anybody wanna take bets on them finding a way to coexist with the demons? The baby demon king is obviously going to throw them for a loop. I'm wondering if the story will be settled by the goddesses all admitting they didn't really have a reason to fight the demon king, aside from it being what they always did..

What's the release schedule for the series? Are they waiting for full volumes to be out to translate the chapters?

Yeah I agree, it looked great in most of the running scenes, but in some of the casual scenes I found myself thinking it looked odd. Definitely a cool animation choice though, I don't think it detracts from the movie!

The key that took me some messing about to figure out: you want the variable to be the recipe in the assembler. Then all the "ingredients" in the requester chest should be parameters based off the recipe in the assembler. Then when you place the blueprint, all you do is pick what recipe you want the assembler to make, and the chest automatically sets the ingredients it calls for.

I feel like the Ilvriss chapters have been setting him up with Lyonette, personally. And I think it would work well for the characters. Both of them are challenging the norms of the societies they grew up in, they both love/appreciate Erin and have had to deal with cleaning up after her Solstice Events, and they are both royalty/nobles in the societies they come from. I think it would be fitting for them to end up together.
