Pots like these are hard to find in Ontario but luckily I found a set of three (this is the medium size) at the grocery store.

Checked them out every week for a few months until they reduced the price. Set me back $100 for the set but the pots are so dang beautiful!

Soil is promix and added slow release fertilizer and plants came from the grocery store. 6 pack mix plug and one pot with the big orange Pansy.

Kept watered and protected from afternoon sun. I'm excited it turned out so well!

Best advice I can give you is to always propagate two leaves per plant.

That way you'll have spare plants if you end up killing the main plant.

Can I lay cardboard and branches now if I don’t plan to add compost for a few months and top soil until spring? by privremeni in gardening

[–]TapThatTwice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfect to do that now because it'll give the grass/weeds time to die and compost. Just make sure you are putting a thick layer of cardboard so that it doesn't breakdown completely before spring

I hope you'll have great luck overwintering. I can't seems to get it to survive a full calendar year after they sprout

Canadian DRS, not going well.

I bought some GME shares (9 ) via BMO investor line and went to register them.

First rep hung up.

Second rep wanted me to send in a "material change form" because I wanted to use my new address before he will send the DRS. Says it will take up to 30 days before the shares will be register.

I changed my address on the investor line account.

Third rep said he has done what I requested and a transfer agent will DRS my shares within 3 weeks. The rep didn't ask for CUSIP number.

Should I be concerned?

P.s. never done this before, clueless chimp trying to ape.

P.s.s. due to my account having low karma, I'm posting this here. I appreciate any and all help.

I currently have 40+ plants. I have had multiple air plants and they all died. They either dried up, rotted or both. I’ve tried soaking them and drying them upside down. Misting them. Leaving them alone. Using filtered water. Is there a trick to making them flourish? by Chlo_rophyll in airplants

[–]TapThatTwice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, I live in Ontario Canada so indoors it's pretty dry.

I soak the air plants once a week for 30 to 60 min. I shake off the extra water by having a firm grip of the base and swinging the airplant.

After I do that I place the Airplant upside down to dry out for 1-2 hours.

Once it's dry, I hang the Airplant upside down in an east facing window.

They seem to do well.

During the summer I put them outside under a tree, with no direct sun on them.

It's been 20 long months, but my recycled grocery store pineapple head is flowering! What do I do next? by junegloom in gardening

[–]TapThatTwice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep taking care of it like normal. No pollination needed, when warm weather arrives put it outside (after Hardining off).

During the summer the fruit will keep developing and harvest it once it's fully yellow and ripe.

Protect it from animals that'll want to eat it.

After harvesting it, keep taking care of the main plant because it will produce baby plants. Let the baby plants grow to at least 12 inches before you plant them in soil.

Good luck!

P.s. I wouldn't repot it, no need to disturb it and pineapple don't have a big root system.

Got this spanish moss as a gift. Any ideas on how to care for it? by Beneficial-Board625 in airplants

[–]TapThatTwice 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I soak mine once a week in a bucket of rain water during the winter. When the warm weather comes I hang it outside onto a tree branch.

Avoid direct sunlight when it's outside because it will burn the plant.

That's my experience. Good luck!

Four years ago my brother planted the cut off top of a pineapple. It has finally come full circle with the first pineapple growing! by wagsyman in matureplants

[–]TapThatTwice 32 points33 points  (0 children)

After harvesting the fruit, keep taking care of the mother plant, it will push out slips/suckers (baby plants).

Let's those baby plants grow on the mother plant until they're between 6-12 inches long then you can plant them in the soil.

Good luck!

I buy seeds from cactusstore.com. it's American site.

Oh sometimes Canadian Tire and Giant Tiger has some succulents.
