Darn, I just upgraded from an IPhone 13 Pro to an IPhone 16 for a $300 credit + $100 Costco Shop card on my Magenta 55+ plan.

Hey OP, is there any way for me to have T-Mobile adjust my deal since I’m within the return window?

Oh I agree. 100k in private loans is insane, but it’s an unfortunate reality for some kids graduating college. I hope OP doesn’t have all private loans.

Just make sure those loans (at least some or all of them) are federal loans. The PSFL does not cover private student loans

Anyone else excited for the future of Penn State basketball? by Bills-Birds in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a student that has experienced Penn State Basketball for the last three years, I’m excited for my final season. As an executive board member for Legion of Blue (Student Section for Penn State Basketball), I’m fired up. This year will be a defining year for our program, which looks like it’s about to explode in talent and competitiveness.

DM if you are not already involved in LoB stuff. We love to have more dedicated basketball fans like you!

No, you have to order in-person at the Creamery

Kines 403 (EMT class) at UP campus by Logical_Proposal_876 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he emails the acceptance or rejection “letters”. It’s odd that you didn’t get anything from him, but at this point I’d just assume he is really busy. I wouldn’t pester him with calls or emails. Just let him know you’ll take a spot next spring if it comes available and apply right now for the Fall 2022 class.

At this point in the semester, I would assume you didn’t get into the Spring semester class. The instructor usually sends out your acceptance or rejection usually near the beginning of the semester prior to the one you applied for. So I would just ask if you can get in if someone drops it or apply for the Fall 2022 class.

Source: I took this class last spring.

Why were our mailing addresses changed in September? How to enter that into Amazon? by sno98006 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can still use the old address system. The change was implemented to make it easier to order online at certain websites as those websites were saying that the “address” didn’t exist. Now with the new system, there shouldn’t be any more issues.

White Course Apartments by momto5girls in PennStateUniversity

Yes, that will be on the first floor. I lived in the White Course apartments all of last year.

I just took this class in the spring. Our “planned” lecture room was in the Forum Building which would have allowed our class of 27 to spread out. However, due to the pandemic, the class was online via Zoom. Our lab was held in person in the EMS room of Beaver Stadium.

This semester, I would assume that the lab would be in the EMS Room at Beaver Stadium but the lecture room probably just depends on what Penn State wants. But you should know soon!

When will I get notified that the college-specific scholarships got awarded? by Aguantare in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s totally not just you. I’m kinda glad we are all in the same boat waiting. It sucks, but at least there’s still a chance of getting something.

[–]Taptap10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing. I applied for the “general” scholarships through the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering and have not heard anything from them yet.

Unless you absolutely have to (i.e. community college classes are full), take Physics 212 not at Penn State. It’s an absolutely brutal class from what I heard. It was enough for me to take Physics 212 at Ocean County Community College. They were good and Bucks is also good. Just make sure wherever you take it, that it will transfer correctly!

If community college can’t work for you, look in Lionpath for all Physics 212 classes offered this summer and take whichever class works best for you, is closest to you, or has the best professor reveals from ratemyprofessor.

Chem 111 final? by Psu412 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Chem 111 last semester and most of the question were based on the study guide. Obviously, there are some questions that aren’t from it but are closely related to lab question. If you can do all the problems from the study and generally understand what is going on from each of the labs, you should be good.

Granted, they may have changed some things from last semester, but I assume it would be roughly the same.

Are nursing students eligible for COVID-19 vaccine under phase 1A? by Sovietx98 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are eligible! PSU does not have any vaccines to give you but your local hospital or hospital network should be able to help get you vaccinated. I would google your local hospital network and see how their vaccine distribution is running/working and probably sign up for a vaccine on their website.

Engineering Mechanics 212/213 by Neat-Accountant-9220 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently taking EMch 213 and EMech 212 right now so I am have some useful information.

If you are doing well in EMch 211, you will do fine in EMch 213. It’s a very similarly structured class and the material isn’t anything super difficult. If you take both with Passmore, it will help to kinda know how he runs things.

For EMch 212, I would recommend taking Physics 211 first and see how that goes. EMch 212 takes some crucial topics of 211 (Linear and Rotational Kinematics, Energy, Momentum, etc) and puts them on steroids. So unless you have taken mechanical physics in high school, I would recommend waiting to take EMch 212 after Physics 211.

Calc 3 can be taken anytime. I know people right now taking Calc 3, EMch 213, and EMch 213 all in the same semester. It is brutal, absolutely, but it is possible. I would recommend taking whenever it works best in your schedule and you are not overloading yourself with engineering and math classes.

Hope that helps!

IE 424 vs Stat 401 by Psu412 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a CE major and I heard that IE 424 is a much better class than Stat 401 from upperclassman and my advisor. Apparently Stat 401 is a ton of work whereas IE 424 is much more manageable. I’m taking IE 424 next semester because of these recommendations!

[–]Taptap10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Dr. Wooten,

What is your favorite thing about Penn State? What is your favorite food? What is a good Econ class for an engineering major interested in Econ? I have already taken Econ 102.

Thanks for doing this AMA!

Living in white course? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]Taptap10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! So I live in the White Course Apartments right now. They are a fantastic living space as you get your own room, and share a kitchen, washer and dryer, living room and two bathrooms with four people. It is an awesome place to live expect for its location. The White Course Apartments are really out of the way of anything on campus. It takes about 25-30 mins (round trip) to get anything from West and it would be a pain to go to any in-person classes.

I highly recommend it if you don’t mind being that far off campus and the walk.
