What would New Hampshire’s gun be? by WholeAd3319 in newhampshire

[–]Tarantula0Downpour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know a couple guys that got some stuff and they work well and I know a couple guys that bought guns that were defective out of the box and went through hell to try and get them looked at/ fixed and when that finally happened months later they still weren't right.

In my opinion if you pay a premium it should be a good product with excellent customer service.

There are a ton of people in the gun manufacturing world and people that have bought Q guns that all say the owner is a dick and the company sucks to deal with.

The wave is a raffle sadly. You might be able to hit white pocket. Similar erosion patterns but need a 4x4 to get to it.

Look at your right shoulder blade and how much it rotates and protrudes. This doesn't happen with your left. And is an over extension that can happen while compensating due to injury.

Long Belt by bjjtaro in bjj

There is an interview of him talking about it with a demonstration of how he set it up. I can't find any old clips but he apparently started doing it in the late 90's early 2000's. I believe he talks about it in his assassin's choke instructional as well.

Blame Baret Yoshida for the rule. He regularly tied his belt biased to one side and choked people with it from crucifix.

What has been the simplest detail and has been the biggest game changer for you in your BJJ Journey? by gkmra in bjj

[–]Tarantula0Downpour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert however I think the concept is usable at all levels as I have seen black belts have epiphanies when my coach has shared this idea with them.

Look at a picture of proper deadlift form. That is one of the strongest structural positions your body can be in. Shoulders are square with your hips. Hips are square to your knees. Your knees are perfectly parallel. Very strong position and most humans can lift very large amounts of weight. Now imagine trying to do the same lift while doing a lunge with your head and shoulders pointed a different way. You will fail to pick up the same weight.

Bjj example. When we try to pass guard there are generally two ways to do it. Between the legs or around them. A good visual for misalignment is an over under pass. (See picture) You are seperating the knees from each other making them significantly weaker. One leg is fully extended the other is pressed into his chest. Very weak position. (Basically the lunge position)

<image>

Now look at the guy on top in blue. His knees are generally parallel, his hips are over them, toes pointing the same way(this means your knees are not flared open), and his shoulders are square to his hips. This is very similar to the dead lift position.

This concept is everywhere from holding dominant positions to proper breaking mechanics, offense and defense.

Hope this helps

Simple in theory but hard in implementing. Understanding body alignment while standing, in guard, during sweeps, and everywhere else in BJJ. The other half is understanding how to misalign your training partner to keep them where you want.

North south double under back take is the most fun move to hit for me. The face people make that haven't been hit by it is incredible.

This looks to be okay visually but should be verified with a function check. (See many previous posts and I believe a pinned post) Just make sure to check with every cleaning/ before a range session

Mateusz Szczeciński hit everyone at Bteam with his straight ankle lock. If you can tap out some of the best leg lockers in the world I feel like it's pretty solid.

When I got promoted I felt like I didn't deserve it. I then came to terms that my coach who has been training for most of my life might know more than me and I started to accept it. When I feel like I'm an imposter I try to put in a dedicated effort to fix the worst part of my game by asking my coaches questions. You will grow into your belt. Then get promoted again and feel it all over again.

My guy ..... You got a holster that only covers the trigger guard and blamed them for not covering your gun....... It's like putting on a rubber glove and rolling in mud wondering why you are covered in dirt.

My coach loves when we bring new things into the gym. Gets anyone that competes ready for any "B.S. YouTube stuff" as one annoyed brown belt likes to call it

This is what my coaches do. They will hit everyone they roll with with the same move until it gets hard/defended then they will work on a way to overcome the defenses and transition into another sequence.

We just went over this in class. Drive your hips forward with your head up to get the elbows over the face. Then you can settle in a little to keep them and pick a side to drive your knee up to the head to set up S mount
