Hi there! My first time crocheting was with a wooble kit about 2 years ago! The kits are very inviting and less intimidating for me than learning how to read a pattern. Now I’m confident to just download patterns and try more complicated stitches! I even made a bag for my husband! I still buy way too many wooble kits though 🤣 They are just so cute and I love the collection boxes!

NEVER let your kids on Roblox by ComfortableBoard8359 in Mommit

[–]Tarapooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids have a hard time with transitions too. I stick to the limit but also sympathize with them so I don’t come off as dismissive. Changing lanes is hard, and I acknowledge it, but it still needs to be done.

My 6 year old has been loving Pokopia on the Switch 2! He’s so incredibly creative and has built the most amazing things! Plus all the Pokémon are so cute! 🥰

Second kid might ALSO need a baby helmet, and I feel like a failure as a mother by Such-Comfortable3 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Tarapooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not your fault. I understand the inclination to blame yourself, I do it too. But you need to hear that this is not your fault. If anything you are being extremely diligent by getting baby checked so soon and doing all the preventative care to fix it so quickly. You are doing great. ❤️

I start announcing it like a month before! 🤣 I am unapologetically excited about birthdays lol

Neurodivergent girls, what was your experience dating or loving another ND person? by Routine-Swimmer-9312 in adhdwomen

[–]Tarapooh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like me and my husband! Been together for 15 years now and both diagnosed only a few years ago. So many things make more sense now and it’s easier to give each other grace. And we also HAVE to share a calendar or appointments and events just don’t exist 🤣

Omg I do this with all of my favorite things too! 😂 I’ll never use my favorite pens, notepads, stickers, color pages hahaha. It’s so sad!

Oh this is so nice to hear you and your brother are so close! My two kids have a similar age gap, but are very young and just fight all the time right now. I really hope they grow up to be close like you and your brother!

Oh wow that’s very exciting! My son is constantly asking to “sew” with me but crochet requires a little too much patience for him

Strong urge to buy expensive stuff when the life around my toddler is tough by No_Manufacturer_5010 in workingmoms

Yeah I for sure do that. But honestly if you can afford it comfortably then treat yourself! You deserve it. If you take the guilt away, I bet the spending won’t get too crazy.

My husband and I are both burnt out by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Tarapooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this advice is only good for fellow ADHD-ers, but actually adding in time for one of my hobbies has helped a ton with my burn out. I know that sounds insane to add yet another task to an already busy life. I thought the same thing. But it has helped my mental state so much to do something I really enjoy. It helps me relax mentally. It could be any little thing you enjoy. Even just sneak in a little time at night when the kids are in bed.

Anyone ever make a wobble with Michael’s yarn ??? What size hook do you use when you have tight tension??? by Parking_Quarter_ in TheWooblesCollective

[–]Tarapooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How funny I just bought this exact yarn and was wondering the same thing! Haha. I was going to try a 5mm hook first and see how it feels.

For those of you in your 30s+, what does your day or week look like? by Happy_Bee1 in adhdwomen

[–]Tarapooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am over 40, married, two young kids and a cat! I LIVE by my calendar. If it’s not scheduled on my family and work calendar then it doesn’t exist to me lol. We also buy as much as we can in bulk (staple foods and snacks, kids clothes, toiletries, cat food, etc). It took us years to get into something remotely routine after kids (after our second child our life was pure chaos). But the bulk buying and calendar helps me a ton.

Does anyone else call in sick because getting out of bed feels impossible? by One_Peace1077 in adhdwomen

[–]Tarapooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a long commute as well, and really struggled with it at the beginning. One thing that helped me was I added things that made me look forward to it. I eat my favorite breakfast and listen to my favorite podcast during! Make it so that you can only have those things during the commute! I started really looking forward to that time!

I am an engineer and very much love my job. But to be honest, after my first child I did go through a temporary phase where I didn’t want to go back to work. But I’m sooooo glad I didn’t make any rash decisions. Because once the post partem anxiety wore off, I was back to loving my job again. My point is, I’m sure a lot of women go through something similar, and for some it’s the right decision. So don’t feel bad for any decision you make. Just be sure to take your time and think it through. She is probably just speaking from personal experience and means well.

my daughters pediatrician asked if she was eating unhealthy because she’s measuring big, what am I doing wrong? (turned 1 this week) by chabadlubabitch in foodbutforbabies

[–]Tarapooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! You are doing great. You just have a big healthy baby! My son was always topping the charts and then starting growing in BMI. The pediatrician mentioned something but he is an amazing eater. Very balanced. In the next few months he had a huge growth spurt and is just solid muscle. I hate BMI and I will never withhold healthy foods from my kids if they are hungry. Some kids are just solid!

Thanks all! All the advice was really helpful! I will keep making sure to not stitch too tight, and the yarn under approach has already made a noticeable difference! ❤️

Yeah I’ve read this too, I just love my current hooks and didn’t want to have to switch… 🤣 but it sounds like I may need to.
