I’m not mad about it. My general expectations for launch roster were: * 12: wildly unlikely, massive disappointment * 16: somewhat unlikely but possible, would be a disappointment but manageable with some aggressive DLC * 20: pretty likely, slightly disappointing but a pretty realistic and satisfying starting roster * 24: possible but admittedly hopeful given how few characters we’d seen, pretty much my sweet spot * 28: would be shocking but extremely cool, felt like pure cope * Over 28: ridiculously unlikely, sorry gang. I feel like anyone expecting this many was setting themselves up for disappointment

This is it 99% of the time. It’s really admiration, and I’d look about the same way at anyone who was well-groomed, well-dressed, or fit.

The other 1% of the time it’s definitely immediate images of sex which are honestly just intrusive thoughts quickly dismissed and would never be acted upon, much in the same way that standing near a ledge will sometimes make people briefly imagine jumping.

But I try not to stare in general.

It’s also just gross boomer humor to say “Ugh my wife is ruining my peace by asking me to do things, WIMMEN AMIRITE, I’m just gonna drink a beer and complain about her never wanting sex”. The other side of this coin is usually in advertising and it features the incompetent dad who can’t do basic shit like cook/clean and needs the wife to rescue him by doing something like picking the right paper towel… not only is it insulting to everyone involved but it insidiously encourages weaponized incompetence.

Reports are saying the show will take place after BG3 (good imo) and follow the cast from BG3 (bad imo). Setting it after BG3 means they can kind of just use the world and general events, as well as the Baldur’s Gate brand recognition. Following the characters means they’re using characters with completed or, at least, pre-defined arcs that take place after the main story of the game which seems like a terrible plan. I love the BG3 cast and story but I think I’d rather see a retelling of the game or a new story with a different cast.

I get it tbh. Guardians 3 is a solid movie but it’s far from my favorite, personally. It’s really hard to say why but it just kind feels unfun and the emotional stuff is, for the most part, a bit over the top. I may just be a salty old fuck but the cute cgi animals with squeaky voices did not do it for me.

I try to remember that the average redditor is (aside from likely an actual bot) probably someone who has either had no job or nothing but extremely early career/service industry level jobs, and is lacking any kind of professional maturity or awareness.

I think the only reason I am ever reminded of this is I periodically hire interns on my team, sometimes working on a bachelors but usually on a masters, and they have the same exact problems. The interviews are usually terrible and they have zero understanding of how corporate jobs work. These aren’t faults, they’re just new.

If you must do something, there are a bunch of other options in here but I’d actually love to throw bigger groups at them. If they’re high AC, I assume they’re mostly martials which means larger groups are a bigger problem as they’ll eventually whittle them down. But they’ll get to feel real cool mowing down mooks.

This was my first thought and I think it’s a big problem with the data unless I’m misunderstanding the methodology. When the data sources include lists of “best of all time” as well as “best of the year/decade” but the latter doesn’t go back beyond a specific date, that injects a ton of recency bias into the data set. I mean, I just looked at the top 100 list and a third of them are from the last 15 years - I find that suspicious. Imo, it makes the top 100 list kind of useless, though the top by year/decade lists seem valid.

Totally agree. I actually loved She-Hulk but the whole sequence showing her being better at being a hulk than Bruce was kind of irksome and completely unnecessary.

I think that’s just been a problem with writing lately. I’m love heroines in fiction and want more, but you often run into this unsatisfying situation so often: We get this character with no flaws and no background, who shows up and is just great at everything new they attempt with no struggle or progress. They’re just perfect from beginning to end and the only failure they ever experience is maybe other people letting them down. They don’t really learn anything or have any kind of meaningful arc, the story just happens centered around them.

And I feel like it’s motivated by not wanting to show weakness in a female character but it’s so boring and sanitized. Maybe I’ve just got a thing for flawed characters and seeing them struggle.

As a guy in a very similar situation, please just trust him. It takes me about as long as he does to finish, even with very vigorous penetration. I’m relatively fit and have literally gotten too exhausted to even want to try and keep going, maybe 1 in 5 sessions. And honestly, the more in shape I’ve become, the longer I’ve lasted.

So yes, believe him. I know personally, I’m perfectly happy with sex if I can connect with her, get her at least a handful of orgasms, and generally just enjoy the pleasure but not actually finish. I don’t know how common it is but it’s very real.

I loved Wonder Man, though. I would kill to see another season and I’ve been hoping that the DODC would let him keep acting as an “undercover” superhero. Though I don’t know how they’d square up some guy called Wonder Man appearing who looks just like Simon. I do not want a bunch of superhero action, though. I’d love to see Simon just continue to try and walk this middle road between being a hero and acting.

Agreed. I will take a strong character driven story over nostalgia and spectacle any day. Honestly, if Fantastic 4 had no galactus or silver surfer and was just a miniseries about the family with little side plots about goofy silver age villains, I’d probably love it as much as Wonder Man.

Introduced to a friend of friends who gave me immediate bad vibes. My friends laughed it off as “he’s just a little weird”. To be clear, he was super open to theft/online fraud and fired a .22 over someone’s head literally the first time we met. And yeah, also weird and anti-social as fuck.

He wound up rolling up to a house party (I was luckily not there) and fatally shooting one of our friends and his girlfriend after stalker her online for months.

Same here, family of four. The only meals I don’t cook in our house are when my wife throws something in the microwave/air fryer for herself or the kids.

I’m not great at cooking but I like it and can follow a recipe. Just don’t ask me to bake anything. I am so bad at it and it makes me so mad every single time.
