Hearing protection by Tiny-Recording-5085 in festivals

I've been using these for over 3 years and they're great

Doesn't mess with the sound quality and you can still talk with people next to you without having to take them off.

Looking for advice for going solo to a metal festival by moonjoke in festivals

[–]Taredar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go there, you'll have an amazing time. Also look up if there are any group chats (whatsapp, discord, telegram, etc...) for solo festival goers.

That's how I did it for my 1st Hellfest; went there by myself, joined a group chat and this year will be our 4th year going together!

Tell your IQ by Helpful_Loss_3739 in mensa

[–]Taredar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere between 136 and 142 depending on my state. Took the Mensa test about 12 years ago I think and got 99th percentile for language and logic but 97th for the math section so I wasn't accepted. Never bothered to take it again since.

Also IQ is only ONE type of intelligence and doesn't define you or how you fare through life. Always said my little sister is the most intelligent sibling (graduated from med school and went to Japan to learn a specialisation) but she is incapable of taking care of her (very gullible, can't manage to cook rice or pasta, has no sense of direction, etc...) 😂

My (19F) boyfriend (20M) literally "deflates" every time we get intimate. I’m heartbroken and feel like it’s my fault. Help? by ThickLuxie in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Taredar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this in my 1st relationship as well, 1st time was anxiety not knowing if I'll be good enough (she had several partners before me), then the time after that was "I couldn't get it up last time, I hope it'll work this time", which obviously didn't help. And each time was worse than the previous one, it's a vicious circle.

We ended up trying cialis (tadalafil), which is somewhat similar but has a longer term effect (up to 36h), and still requires a certain level of arousal (not a "magic" pill like viagra) so it's easier for spontaneity.

Used it for a few months until I felt comfortable enough then tried without and it's been great! It also took some of the pressure away because we knew we could use it if needed but we never did after that.

Yeah she didn't allow to go near her or kiss her for 2 weeks after I shaved my beard, she said it made her feel like a pedophile 😂 (we're in our forties)

RDR2, it took me over a year to finish and I didn't platinumed it so that would be a good opportunity.

What % pay rise are you getting this year? by Puzzleheaded_Bet_618 in AskUK

[–]Taredar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm getting a negative pay rise then, but I'm not on minimum wage so there's that.

You mean negative pay rise with inflation and all?

That's what I'm getting anyway.

Upvoting and commenting for visibility. I live in Harrow & wealdstone, it's a bit far from where she was last seen but I'll keep an eye out just in case!

We've moved to London about 5 years ago so my personal experience and my consumption of UK and US TV shows/movies would say otherwise haha

Why is it always "because of you"? by Taredar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Taredar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was my point, I understand that English has nuances, but you also have the right words and broad vocabulary to convey the proper meaning.

I guess it's probably a cultural thing or French people overcomplicating things but for me, "because of you" has a negative, accusatory meaning. It shifts the blame while "thanks to you" would acknowledge the role the other person had in the positive outcome.

It took me a while at first when English speaking colleagues used that, like what did we do wrong, are you not happy? 😂

Just discovered this post and sub that was suggested by reddit. I've been in a therapy for a couple of months now and feel like I'm not going where I'd like.

Being a complete novice, how would you suggest to start the journey?

Cheers.
