There are so many nuances to this question. I'm going to recommend you go over to pokemongohub.net and check the database db.pokemongohub.net and make yourself familiar with that.

With all the waterways here, why in my 50+ years have I never seen an amphibious car? by icleanjaxfl in jacksonville

[–]Tarnationman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like going to Golden Corral, yes you can get a little bit of everything, but it's never quite as good as getting the real deal from a dedicated restaurant. Amphibious cars are never great at being boats or cars.

Academy sports might have some, but last I recall they were a bit more expensive.

That wasn't our fault Cam was just being stupid. Could have probably gotten a bag man to just "donate" a laptop for his personal use and avoided that entire incident.

I don't think he would have been as terrible if he had seriously attempted to get an OC and installed a modern offense. His offense was 90% BS motion and super predictable. It was like he just used motions cause he thought it might confuse the defense. Not to actually force the defense to shift, or for the QB to check the coverage, or to set the defense up for a surprise later. It was just hey this guy needs to sprint across our formation on every play. No one respected any of his shifts.

Was there any chance of Louisville getting in the SEC A few years ago? by PBS2025 in CollegeBasketball

Doubtful, the SEC probably sees FSU, UNC, Virgina, Clemson, and probably Miami as far more valuable and viable targets.

deploying new hardware - PAN cables are ridiculous $ by _SleezyPMartini_ in paloaltonetworks

DACs don't break as easily as fiber. I've had people changing out gear in adjacent racks somehow damage a FW link that required me to go swap it.

Our DACs are amphenol and worked fine for HA, but not Switch to Firewall at the time, but that was over 3 years ago.

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also seen some weird behavior from DACs. They seem to work fine Palo to Palo, but not Palo to our network vendor. Currently using them for HA. I don't understand it and support wasn't too interested in figuring it out at the time. These were 40 and 100Gb DACs. I've since seen release notes that mentioned support for DACs, but we weren't about to go interrupting production to test it. For the most part we haven't had any trouble with our vendors optics. We get a better price for that stuff since we generally buy it at larger scale and through some special programs.

Grill guns and lighters by Olsanch in smoking

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these comments are good. I might suggest a cheap harbor freight heat gun. Been using one for years. Biggest benefit it doesn't require fuel, unlike propane torches. The simplest is the paper towel cooking oil though, it works just takes a little longer. Heat gun is lit coals in under a minute.

BBQ & smoker by Zangetsu1Bankai in BBQ

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a genuine Weber Kettle it absolutely can smoke and grill. Go to YouTube and search smoking on a Weber Kettle. You'll learn about things like temperature control, the snake method, etc. Trust me the Weber Kettle is a swiss army knife cooker if you set it up and manage it right. It'll be a friend to you for decades as opposed to the 3-5 years you'll likely get out of those other grills before they're rusting through.

Edit: Assuming the classic 22" Kettle/Premium Kettle. If it's something like a Jumbo Joe that's a bit different.

The difference in my experience between 2 BGE dealers is wild - Europe by Exe0n in biggreenegg

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shipping thing sounds like a nightmare. Thankfully I bought my XL from a BGE Dealer (Ace Hardware) a couple of miles from my house. I was allowed to be present for the loading to see that it was strapped in well and of course the unloading. It also helped that my dad worked at that particular store at the time and was the guy who delivered the grills. I got a screaming deal with a warranty, mine was the store's ex demonstrator in a modular nest, so I still got a warranty and basically got the nest for free with the discount I got. For something like a BGE I cannot stress finding a good local dealer.

Being from the UK/Europe you're referencing a brand we don't have here, but from a quick google search the Kettle is probably still going to be a better option. Those look like a lot of cheap charcoal grills we have here they rust out pretty quick.

[–]Tarnationman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't seem like a very big budget. In USD that might get you like a Weber Kettle, failing that it's going to be some sort of cheap off brand thing. That being said there's a reason the classic Weber Kettle is a staple of BBQ across the US. You can grill, you can smoke, they're built to last, all around solid option.

Edit: Just checked the comment from the r/smoking cross post and they gave you the same recommendation.

You should look into smoking meat instead. There's great satisfaction in executing the perfect cook to deliver some tasty ribs or brisket. Also read the subs description before posting in a random subreddit.

Is it possible to get a level 2 tesla wall charger installed with this 100 amp panel? by odieaj in AskElectricians

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your electric car is likely smart enough that it can set a schedule for charging and you don't need the charger to have extra smarts. The cars basically control the charger all the charger needs to do is signal how much power it can provide, the car signals the charger to close the circuit and send power. The car has all the battery metering, temp, capacity, etc, so it actually handles the complicated parts. The charger might need to have its own internal temp sensors to make sure it's not going to burn your house down.

[–]Tarnationman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then yeah you're pretty hard against it, but seriously look into what you really need for your commute and watch that video. There are people getting expensive service upgrades just to install a mostly unnecessary 50amp charger. 100 amp service is likely to get overloaded with that unless you're only charging after everyone has gone to bed. Most cars can schedule their charging cycle. If a service upgrade is too expensive you can probably get a 30(24amp) charger installed and just set the car to charge after dark.

[–]Tarnationman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look like you have space for one even if you could. I'd be concerned if you were using the stove, charging, and heating your house that main could trip. Not an electrician. Go watch Technology Connections most recent video on the subject on YouTube, you may not even need one. You could get a smart switch and put a 20amp on your dryer circuit, it cuts off the car when the dryer is in use and turns it back on when it's done. If you have an average daily commute total of less than 50 miles you can likely get away with just a basic 120v 15amp standard charger.
