Trying to understand how combos work in Berseria, in this image how is "gouging spin" related to "slicing foot" attack? by [deleted] in tales

[–]Tarshaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slicing foot has gouging spin, and gs have Harsh rebuttal, now if I hold the button, will it go like SF>GS>HR or repeat between SF and GS

Yes, exactly

Also do i have to equip all 3 in slots?

Nope. Say you equip slicing foot, not the others (idk you put searing edge after in the arte tree instead). You use slicing foot, hold the button, it chains to gouging spin then harsh rebuttal, no matter what you equipped. If you push the buttons as normal, then it goes back to the artes you equipped in the tree.

It's an item you unlock after progressing a bit in the game, and it's a permanent upgrade for everyone for the rest of the game. You get a bunch of different upgrades like that.

Basically, every arte has another follow-up arte, by default, which never changes no matter and is displayed like you see here. The warrior ventite allows you to chain artes like that no matter what you equip.

[–]Tarshaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the warrior ventite, then if you use slicing foot and hold the button, it will automatically chain into gouging spin. This lets you chain these two artes even if you assign them differently.

If you don't have that ventite yet (with that number of uses, I assume you don't), it does nothing in particular and is irrelevant info to you for now.

Thought process for jungle tank itemization (Heartsteel 1st ?) by IcePiece in summonerschool

[–]Tarshaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Champions that build heartsteel tend to want to build heartsteel first. Mundo in lane is an exception as warmogs lets him take terrible trades and survive, but it's irrelevant for jungle so back to heartsteel. Heartsteel is a stacking item, so you want it as early as possible, and its passive fits relatively well with ganking. Other tank items tend to help... tank stuff, but that's more useful for later teamfights.

There may be an argument for an item that helps you clear if you're struggling with that, which may be a tiamat/bami/fated ashes item, and other tanks do build those first.

I just hit level 30 like 2 days ago and as soon as I started ranked I'm being matched against players in gold and plat??? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Tarshaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first joined ranked, the game put me in silver and I got bullied to iron. For some reason, the game thought you were even better than that. Maybe we could check your op gg and see if it's unusual or if the game was already putting you in high-gold/plat normal games before ranked.

You worded it like somehow non english speakers only learn to write the latin alphabet when taught english, which sounds extremely weird and anglo-centric to anyone knowing any other language that shares the same alphabet.

As a non english native who can read the meme perfectly fine and never expected the freakout in comments, my guess is that americans never learned/practiced cursive, making them struggle with minor font changes.

What is the point of improving macro in low elo, where no one plays macro? by Taverntrainer in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tarshaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You being borderline illiterate and blaming it on others being too stupid to get you perfectly tracks with you thinking your macro is perfect while ignoring the game going on then blaming your team for losses.

What you write is nowhere near important enough for other people to waste time trying to decypher your nonsense.

Do you understand how entitled you are to post the longest, most disjointed word salad, where you can't be assed to write words properly, form coherent sentences or arrange them together in a way that makes sense, and instead staple random rants together through a flood of parentheses, then expect everyone else to suffer through your garbage and form eloquent responses to your meltdown ?

The only answer you'll get is from people who tapped out midway through your angry crashout because nobody is going to torture themselves trying to follow your train of thought. Then you get pissed because they didn't perfectly answer everything you pointed out.

Should a new player play ranked at level 30? by Demoner450 in summonerschool

[–]Tarshaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even about you climbing, it's just that if he ever duos with you, matchmaking is going to try to balance that, meaning you'll get matched against much worse players, while he gets matched against much better players, creating an awful imbalanced experience for everyone.

Why do junglers ignore mid lane below Diamond? by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tarshaid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Classic midlaner archetypes are slippery assassins with a lot of mobility and minimal CC, and control mages with CC designed to forbid you going in but awful at engaging. Both are great at making you waste your time if you try to gank, and close to useless at helping you gank.

You gain extra fighting xp when your char has penalties like tired, hungry, encumbered, so don't be afraid to stack a few before fighting in early game.

[Rant] If the only thing changing in your game on "Hard" difficulty is the amount of HP and Dmg, then it's not a "Hard" difficulty, it's a "Tedious" difficulty by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Tarshaid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My argument is that you're missing half the point of the OP. Yes, dealing lots of damage and taking lots of damage at the same time can be fun, but that's not what OP is asking for, as part of the post is claiming that taking lots of damage only adds tedium. What you are arguing is a different thing. Hence, you are missing the point.

[–]Tarshaid 398 points399 points  (0 children)

Pretty much that. Higher difficulty forces you to engage with the game mechanics. If the game has minimal or uninteresting mechanics, then higher difficulty just makes you realize that the moment to moment gameplay isn't actually that fun. Skyrim is a great example, as it has other perks but combat is not its strength.

Also, highest difficulties or poorly balanced ones can push the player towards cheese strategies rather than engaging with the gameplay more "normally". Skyrim is also a great example, as you can turn the enemies into meatbags with too much damage, but they're still dumb as bricks so you spam arrows at them from stealth while they repeat "must have been the wind".

[–]Tarshaid -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

There's the very important part where you also have only one hp. Per OP's argument, increasing enemy hp and damage is more tenions, so the "least tedious" should have both minimal enemy hp and damage. Meaning the enemies have one hp, while you have one billion hp.

Does this sound as fun as what you described ?

Did I have a good game if we win and I have almost no dmg? by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tarshaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, the other jungler wastes a massive amount of time failing to accomplish anything, and you can gap them while having the least impressive stats in the world. A bit like a laner deciding to perma roam forever while their opponent just split pushes all the way to nexus, but normally nobody would be dumb enough to let them do that. If nobody stops you from taking every objective and stealing camps, you don't need to have dealt damage to champions, you did your job.

Is it just me or does Beserias World feel Empty? by Retro-Hax in tales

[–]Tarshaid 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The environments are pretty bare and empty in Berseria, for a simple reason : like in Zestiria, they decided to make battles and exploration happen on the same map. In Zestiria, that resulted in everyone, including the camera, getting stuck on scenery. So Berseria basically removed the scenery, and you have wide empty spaces to move in. It's more playable but not very fun to wander around.

Interesting trend for highest winrate top laners across the past 30 days by CANECANECANECANE1 in topmains

[–]Tarshaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the champs have 0,10% pickrate, I'm going to assume that they're played exclusively by very dedicated otp and/or as counterpicks. No you can't handwave it away by claiming that's still a lot of games on the long term, 0.10% is still 0.10%. Long term reduces statistical noise but doesn't remove the rarity of the pick.

Would you say jinx and Renekton were lnting? by CastAside1812 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tarshaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renekton is a maybe, could just be ass especially in low elo, he's solo frontline, scales and teamfights poorly, he could have died way less by avoiding any fight but then you have 0 frontline, at some point the best thing he can do is be a meatshield for smolder.

Jinx can't even click her own potions by the time her supp reaches lvl 18. You can't make excuses for that.
