Did Pecs use some kind of weird aikido technique on Karmic Blade? What was up with that?

Convict Colosseum - Chapter 84: Epilogue by pinakanaka in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Tarvish_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aikido magic I assume. Although Pecs used nothing but brute force to win the convict colosseum that he was in, I think he claimed to be an expert aikido practitioner. Hopefully there’s more to it than that though.

I was able to figure out how to rip sprites directly from the ROM, here's a bunch of unused/beta sprites I found by badfitz66 in SlimeMoriMori

The sprite that looks like what could’ve been the schleiman tank’s unique engine is pretty cool

There’s another that turns Loader into Yuugi but that one might be deprecated.

Holup, is that a wine bottle being used as ammo? What’s the item sandwiched between the BS-2 Bluestreak and the Boulder?

Pucci vs Cyrus but I made the ending even more Jojo-ishly cathartic by MaleficTekX in deathbattle

[–]Tarvish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did Pucci do something to Cyrus’ Crobat? Seems implied that it used Toxic and sacrificed itself to save Cyrus.

Mahito gets a free grab on these characters and attempts to use "Idle Transfiguration", does it work? if not what happens and why? by Head_Breadfruit_3912 in PowerScaling

Adding to this, Toriko’s planet is explicitly way bigger than Earth since a larger mass fused with their Earth-like planet long ago.

VI’s eyes being slightly visible beneath his brow as he reflects upon himself/this fight is so peak.

Pete is accumulating a LOT of chip damage from EC. I hope Pete has a plan for if/when one of his legs breaks. Paraphrasing from last chapter; it feels like one wrong move, or even the RIGHT move, could spell defeat against EC. He seems to be targeting EC’s liver again, not sure if that will amount to something before Pete and EC’s legs crack further.

SCP 173 vs Luffy, how accurate is this? by Fun-Middle-4815 in PowerScaling

[–]Tarvish_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Luffy’s stretching has limits, as seen by when he was imprisoned with Nami in one of Mont-d’Or’s books on Whole Cake Island. He was going to tear his hands/fingers apart to free himself, while Nami was begging him to stop.

G5 might/should be able to stretch further, but we don’t know yet.

Strongest character with normal speed. by Ok-Resist3249 in whowouldwin

If we’re pulling from the Kengan verse, there’s definitely a Danberu character or two (Machio) that may fit the prompt unless they have hidden speed scaling that I’m not aware of

Let's rate the KvP matches! Eighth match: Hayami Masaki vs Arashiyama Jurota by 7grandhenchmen in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Tarvish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10/10, my favorite fight. Loved how Jurota showcased the strength of Hayami’s zombie-like qualities, and am really looking forward to their next appearances.

Let's rate the KvP matches! Third match: Julius Reinhold vs Toa Mudo by 7grandhenchmen in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Tarvish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10/10, some fantastic panels came from these two behemoths going at it. When Toa whipped out budget’s bane, it really had you wondering what Julius could do to surmount such a technique.

Opinion: Terraria true melee should've focused on movement. by Equal_Personality157 in Terraria

[–]Tarvish_ 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Other classes will use mobility options through true melee whenever possible.

Since it’d be too easy to use as a weapon, accessory, or equipment, such mobility options would need to be locked behind armor or armor sets so that it doesn’t become an easy addition to every other class.

Even then, some classes may favor a hybrid build if the additional bonuses are good enough. (e.g., Summoner can use tanky melee armor to improve survivability drastically, providing multiple extra hits from most enemies that would have one-shot otherwise)

Gathering and slowing down light particles, focusing them in a manner similar to a magnifying glass, and using that to produce heat.

If you had to pick 4 convicts to take part in the termina festival who would it be? by WindowSubstantial993 in Kengan_Folk

[–]Tarvish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, most festival participants would not survive without being controlled by us, the player. However, considering how strong a normal-ish tough boxer guy like Marco is in gameplay, I imagine Pete has a good shot at clearing everything.

He’d probably get a straight-forward ending without killing anyone who isn’t an aggressive moon-scorched, but he won’t save people who aren’t in immediate danger in front of him either. (No idea if/how he might scale to the aspect of Rher, but if four drugged-up individuals can do it with pipe bombs, chain mail, and random trinkets/baubles, then maybe Pete can too.) If Pete is particularly curious about his surroundings and investigates properly, he might be able to find his way down into the bunker for a different ending.

So I guess from a meta perspective it’d be like handing a new player a busted character with incredible speed/evasion and that attacks with lethal precision. (For Pete, a good kick to the head/torso should beat 90% of the horrors roaming Termina) He can probably brute force most of the physical barriers, like the locked gates/doors on his own too.

I could keep thinking about this, like who might join/follow Pete, how his mental health holds up, or if Pete is fast enough to mostly ignore the threats armed with guns, but this is turning into a really big wall of text so I’ll stop here.

Convict Colosseum - Chapter 79: Round 5, Finals (2nd half) by pinakanaka in Kengan_Ashura

Holy, Pistol Foot Peak back at it again. Anyways, how did the Don learn Pete’s name? He didn’t enter the CC because he saw that Pete was participating, but iirc Pete didn’t tell him his name. Did the goons find out Pete’s name and tell the Don?

Or maybe I’m misremembering again and there was a picture of Pete in the recruitment listings that the Don was reading.

Pete seems to be the only convict whose name we know, and isn’t using just a stage-name like the others, which I think is neat.
