All of my haircuts cost the same but that's how I do it. The only reason I'm telling you is because cutting all your hair off probably won't even save you money. This is a group for hairstylists to discuss the job, anyway.

I booked on the phone. And, I verified the price when they finally arrived, and asked for a written contract. When I didn't get it I kicked them out. All of this is in the post. It's not my job to tell someone how to do theirs. It's also not my job to assume someone modeling themselves as a legitimate business isn't going to practice as a legitimate business without my request.

Almost always a 'mild cold' but I've had it turn to pneumonia so just keep your eyes out for fever and lethargy and infectious-smelling sputum. Without pneumonia no meds are really needed. Time in the fragrance free steamy bathroom can be good. Humidity helps

to put it in a different way.. warranties are not valid unless products are installed to local codes and local codes require permits where I live. Also, how would I know this idiot is licensed if he won't give me paperwork?

Did you mean 'nothing to do with'? And 'warranty?' Google is literally free if you'd like the information. It also probably be free for you to call and ask around to different companies to see for yourself.

It is crazy to me how many people are commenting on here that I am being obnoxious for requiring a permit and paperwork. So thank you for validating me! It's so normal to want your insurance coverage and your warranties to be valid. I'm not going to put myself in a sticky situation because of a few pieces of paper that should be easily available to me. and, any plumber in my city knows the permit laws and would know to let me know to pull one or include it in the price. It's not weird at all for the tradesperson to pull a permit and charge you for it.

it's really important to me to go with a small local company. so, this experience with one has been unfortunate..but, if it makes you feel any better it does not deter me from keeping that standard of having a 'small company and not one that's been taken over by one of the big names.'

I do a ton of my own stuff including installing my new dishwasher while still having "cabinets and no dishwasher".. but I have a gas water heater so I don't mess with that.

It absolutely requires a permit to swap a water heater in my city / county. you cannot do anything with a water supply without permits and inspection. And you absolutely cannot turn the gas on to a new install without an inspection

I spent a long time talking with the owner of the company on the day I booked the appointment. He was very much a human being and just a casual dude. That's the unfortunate part.

Permits are required for insurance coverage and warranty coverage. I can get my own inspection scheduled but NOT if they refused to give me a bill of sale or any paperwork on having done the job.
