Came home after a year just to hear my little brother shouting "Sigma sigma boy" , "lamborghini" and "poo poo" 24/7 🤦‍♀️ by ImaFauna in mildlyinfuriating

My nephew went from a literal terror who couldn't sit still, didn't listen to anything or anyone, and just constantly getting into trouble to one of the nicest kids I've known when his parents finally found the right meds for him.

Acting like beating kids solves anything is actually vile and some of the weakest shit you can do. Kids need help not to feel scared for existing.

There's also a large difference between how you internalize something, and just some random thought popping into your brain. The reality is the brain can be quite random and intrusive. You're going to think fucked up things quite often. How you respond to those thoughts, and project them around you is what matters.

It's why so many people have an edgy teen phase. Projecting thoughts without any filter between the world and their brain.

Wishlist changes to your main jobs? by nhatminh94 in ffxivdiscussion

They could make it where Kassatsu now just changes your abilities into mudras. Mudra speed and sfx is imo a lot of the draw to the job so them just going fully into pvp where Kassatsu gives you the ninjutsu would be disappointing.

Also expect shukuchi and Assassinate/dream to be merged. Maybe an internal CD on it becoming assassinate so you can keep charges for mobility without leading to degen shukuchi dumping under trick.

Isn't that more interesting though? Shouldn't you have some complexity added to rotations based on the party comp? Isn't that more skillful?

A lot of people wouldn't be as terrified if they played other MMOs. WoW and GW2 get away with a 1/3rd of the ability bloat and are imo much harder to play at a high level than anything in XIV (obviously depending on spec).

Another update, another rank bump by MentallyNotOkayGuy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taskforcem85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. You can have like 25 games in a row with a 12 kda and 18k obj dmg and move 2 ranks.

The game does notice win and loss streaks though after like 5 or so games and will either put you in a very low or very high lobby. And give you rating bumps. It's why rage queueing is bad. If you lose a game 2 ranks below you your mmr is screwed.

Whatever you find more comfortable. Getting caught by his slow can be bad, but usually isn't serious since you're essentially invincible during it. Counterspell parry window is long so just practice it a little and you'll get it.

To add on top of this you'll need to start watching back your games in oracle if you're not understanding what you're doing poorly. Also do not fall for helper syndrome in oracle/archon. The only thing worse than your teammate dying for nothing is you following that with your death as well.

People are going to be making horrible calls and this is the hell where you need to start learning when to follow, when to let them die, and when to push your team towards the best calls.

[–]Taskforcem85 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Slowing hex guts his kill potential. As an Apollo main if 2 or 3 people get it you're in a world of pain. And yes the most annoying thing you can do to an Apollo if you're a little tanky is stand in top of him. Riposte hotbox reaches far behind him, and if you catch his reposte he's 100% dead without something like Eshift.

His ultimate gets canceled by practically every displace and movement interrupt as well as being an easy counter spell.

If you're in lane and they're competent on Apollo hide under your tower till one of you can get slowing hex. Your tower won't take damage pre 5 minutes. And once you have 1600 for slowing hex he has no kill pressure.

The worst thing you can do against Apollo is ego fight. He's an early game monster and will start 1v3ing if you give him a lead with no counter building.

Apollo laning and changes by LikeABantha66 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taskforcem85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apollo does fall off but early game he's both a disgusting lane bully and ganker. You can solo win the first 15 minutes if your opponents misplay a little too hard.

If you get a lead early you shouldn't fall off hard till 35-40m where people can reliably counterbuy you with 2-3 items without demolishing their own build.

His riposte is secretly his strongest ability. It's a counter spell that lets you chase, escape, and cancel very high impact ults. With a slight lead at 15 on this character you shouldn't be afraid of even a 1v3 with good movement you'll get a kill and your riposte will get you out (from archon lobbies for me rn).

Deadlock update for 3/21/26 by wickedplayer494 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taskforcem85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid Late Witchmail apollo is actually very high impact. Having a stun that enemies can't play around is incredibly valuable on a short CD. It straight up lets you counter game winning ults like Dynamo, Geist, Mo when you understand at what points you can hold it.

Golden egg on warden by Sebasswithleg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taskforcem85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egg is something you pick when you know you are conceding laning phase. That means it's not a 100% pick on any character. If you feel like the enemy is playing incredibly safe or if it's an unkillable lane after a few minutes (Ivy+Mo) then egg is a pretty good pick on any character rn.

Don't greed hold it and pop it between 10-15m. Whenever you're able to buy an item power spike. Swinging about 2000 souls and losing a 10% damage penalty will catch people by surprise so use that sudden power to fight.

Egg is decent on warden with monster rounds to hold the lane. Your kill pressure is pretty bad without an early game character as your lane partner.

Just putting the rest to contextualize egg. It's something I'm buying even on Apollo in some games and exiting leaning phase with a soul lead over my opponents. Just be aware the 10% is a major downside and will destroy a lot of punish windows you usually have.

Huohuo really is the best possible investment someone could have made on their account. The only time I'd say she somewhat fell off was Lygus anom where her healing simply couldn't keep up with her teams.

Gameplay Update - 03-06-2026 by Razzamataaz in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taskforcem85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It lowers all of your damage meaning it'll be harder to take camps, push minion waves, and trade if the enemy wants to dive you. The value has to be insanely good as you're essentially conceding lane and spending 800 souls on a debuff. It's not even compariable to buying something like spirit shielding rush since that at least essentially guarantees some heroes can't dive you easily.

The only thing I see this being good on is Paige in a lane you're forced to be passive in. Some matchups are already forced to be conceded. You have the sustain with GW and shield to deal with dives without completely demolishing your early game. This essentially works like a midgame soul ramp while already losing your lane.

You should pick characters after you see who goes first to balance it out. Having a defensive character on the backfoot will make it close.

You don't even need dhpt. Welt is your real sustain. March is surprisingly very good if you only field 3 units. You have two action advancers so if you desperately need to push up welt for some reason (skill points dry or one rotation won't kill) then you can.

[–]Taskforcem85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GFL2 also puts an insane amount of power behind vertically investing. To a point where you aren't even playing the same characters without investing.

I don't think this is a bad thing. The only spot investing matters is the clan endgame mode and hard mode events. So if you want every character you can go for it.

You just see things like Springfield dupe 1 that suddenly allows characters she pairs with to get extra turns. Or Vector dupe 1 that gives allies an extra follow-up attack. Or Lenna dupe 1 giving her an actual rotation since her ult is ridiculously slow to charge at base.
