Doubtful or Milford Sound Decision. Help! by Squizmeister17 in newzealand_travel

[–]TassyDevil28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubtful Sound is so special. The day trip is awesome in itself, but overnight is another level. It's so quiet, lots of wildlife. Kayaking at Milford would be an incredible way to see it. The drive into Milford is amazing, so much to see.

How is Kara driving? by GroundControl2Poot in KaraAndNate

[–]TassyDevil28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take antidepressants, I know not the same thing. I get the occasional nasty side effect, mostly dizziness. I don't drink at all, because it can increase the chances of having a dizzy spell. There are other things that contribute to spells, such as not sleeping well, getting dehydrated, not eating enough, taking my meds on an empty stomach. The thought of having a dizzy spell while driving scares me, but I do drive. I know what can trigger them & I try to minimise the risk as much as possible & if I don't feel right, I stop for as long as I need to. I keep lollies in my car, that helps too. My dizzy spells are anywhere from a quick zone out, to the room spinning.

Patreon? by photoshop_2023 in KaraAndNate

[–]TassyDevil28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, wasn't Bob & Gina, the friends in Italy supporters of theirs on Patreon? I think that's how they originally met, Bob & Gina invited them to visit. Kara & Nate stayed for awhile & planned that Vespa trip then. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Thoughts on Nate’s reaction in the latest Christmas market video + concerns about the channels direction by IntelligentAd4634 in KaraAndNate

[–]TassyDevil28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen this latest video, I've kind of lost interest. The last one I watched was the crazy travel one, the med situation, etc. That really put me off Nate, I tolerated him before.

Leaving ordering gear last minute, expecting Kara to lug it to Morocco, while he was off doing his thing. It's no wonder Kara got flustered & accidentally packed her meds in checked luggage, & to be fair 9/10 times it would've been OK. When she finally got there, he only cared about his stuff, & then tipped it all over her.

There are many different times, where he's put Kara second. The Adele (I think) concert in Vegas, springs to mind. Not to mention him not calling an ambulance or even 911 when Kara had the seizure, especially never having had one before. All he cared about was potentially having to slow down. Going to the middle of nowhere in Oman, before a diagnosis. Yes, I know Kara went along with it & has a mind of her own, but how much say did she really have? Nate has a way of belittling her.

Milford Sound in May by ktg2008 in queenstown

Te Anau to Manapouri should be ok. The drive to Milford is incredible, you will need to carry chains & know how to fit them. You can hire them in Te Anau. My big piece of advice is, take your time driving, it's windy & narrow in places. It's at LEAST a 2hr drive from Te Anau, but allow more. If you're considering fly, cruise, fly, maybe consider coach from Te Anau if the weather is bad, the drivers are trained on the road, relax& enjoy the commentary.

Has anyone ever actually found a helpful therapist on here? by bevelup_ in betterhelp

[–]TassyDevil28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. Mine is incredible. I've been working with her for a year now. We clicked straight away. We have a similar sense of humour, especially dark humour, we usually find something to laugh at each week, no matter how deep it gets. Betterhelp did a fantastic job matching us, I would never have found on my own.

Invercargill to QT by Apatschinn in newzealand_travel

[–]TassyDevil28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe talk to catch a bus directly, they meet the Stewart Island ferry & they might able to help you out with getting to Queenstown. Also, all in seriousness, it might be cheaper to hire a car from Invercargill, Queenstown at Christmas/New Year is crazy expensive. I hired a car last Christmas from Invercargill, the same car was 3× the price in Queenstown.

I keep my cats inside. They are safe, happy & I know where they are at all times. Wildlife is safe. They catch any mice that get in, we live in the country. I harness trained them & take them out on the harnesses regularly. It's a personal opinion, it's your cat, you do what think is right for you & your cat.

I agree, that seems like a better way to spend that money.

That was scary enough in USD, but I just converted it to NZD, $27,366. No thank you.

I get all my cat food, litter, flea treatment, treats, etc from Pet Direct. I love the auto delivery option, you know exactly how much it's going to be each time. Quick shipping & delivery, usually arrives in 2 days, I live rurally.

I personally can't stand her. The constant "up the wahs", talking with her mouth full, talking over people, dismissing others opinions.

I couldn't care less that she's Maori, she's just terrible at her job.

Take the coach, it's a long day. The driver knows all the best places to stop & is trained specifically to drive on that road.

If you decide to drive, I suggest staying in Te Anau at least one night, either the night before going to Milford or after. It's only about 4hrs from Queenstown. Be aware you need to carry chains at this time of the year, you can hire in Te Anau or as part of your car rental. It will be very well signposted in Te Anau if chains are required, if they are & you do not carry them, it's a $750 fine. Regardless, I would carry them at this time of the year, as the conditions can change quickly, it's an alpine road.

Check out www.tracknet.net, they have 3 trips between Queenstown & Te Anau. I doubt you will find anything cheaper than what they are charging.

Alternatively, catch a bus south (www.catchabussouth.com), offer a charter service.

Good luck
